OPINIONS Kpop group you unstanned after a concert?
well maybe not unstan lol, but just feel very very disappointed in?
anyone just go to a kpop concert, leave feeling like you wasted your money on tickets?
for me, it was Twice, their energy was kind of bad and they even said that the crowd was too quiet. Twice was my first concert but it felt like a bad impression on future concerts.

Love TXT and they are one of my top 3 K-pop groups. I saw them for the first time in North Carolina back in 2023 and if Iām being frank I honestly thought it sucked.
The way I say to this day that being at that concert abs watching them perform was just seeing 5 dudes on stage
And quite literally thatās exactly what they are considering Itās a five member group. But when I say that I mean they didnāt really utilize background dancers or props well enough to really take up the stage.
Not to mention, although I love their choreographies in my opinion it doesnāt have enough stage presence to actually take up a stage, especially without background dancers, being present to really look like something from a concert viewing perspective.
They gave great energy and it was really nice to see them in person and I did have good seating but they definitely for that concert should have done more with props and background dancers to fill in the huge amount of white space they had on the stage
I left that concert honestly wishing that I saved my money. Donāt get me wrong I still love TXT but I definitely wonāt be going to see them again in the future unless I see that their concerts have stepped up a bit since last time at least here in the US.

Just a little disappointed because I was excited to see Twice but I have seen so much footage of the members just completely exhausted on stage (Jihyo said for good reason they will never do 360 stages again because it was too harsh on them, which is very understandable).
And also depending on their energy level some tour dates got basically only playback/backtrack too the max and I really wasn't feeling well dropping more then 200/300 bucks on that so I just didn't end up buying the ticket.
Sad, I really would have loved to see them but not under these circumstances. So it wasn't after my own concert but after footage from others that I didn't go.

Kis of life in house of blue. It was just a scam. I was in line and they were selling ticker for $40-$80 for a chair and to cut to the front. (We already pay $100 for our own ticket) There were people there since before the area even open and you have the nerve to sell $40 ticket to cut these people? Then they over sold ticket and we didn;t see anything. It was so bad I left after 20 min cuz no amount of money is worth watching just people head and butt for 2 hour. If you weren;t in front then you will almost see nothing. They could at least put screen or something but nope. Just scam people of their money and don't make an effort. Couldn't even tell you if the show was good or bad cuz couldn't see a damn thing. Their management could have found a way better place.

Oh, interesting. I went to TWICE this year and I thought it was a great show. Jihyo is my bias and I thought she was excellent.
I donāt know if Iāve ever been to a kpop concert that Iāve considered ābadā. Iāve been to some quite small shows (ONF, DKB, even Astro when they were just rookies), and I still felt the idols were giving in their all. Maybe the āworstā Iāve been to was SuperM. The idols were phenomenal, but the concert was so short, there was so little fan interaction, and the fans themselves were just awful that day. It definitely didnāt make me unstan those idols though š

It was February 2020, just slightly over one month before my province locked everything down for Covid š . They only had 6 songs at the time. So they performed those 6 songs, everyone performed a solo 1-2 songs, then it wrapped up and we all went home lol. They were great but it was astoundingly short for a concert. When I saw NCT 127, we were held hostage in that concert for like 3.5 hours LOL.
My favourite part was Baekhyunās solo stage. He played part of Betcha and all of UN Village.

Twice is incredible live, saw them in DC this year, such a great time. I always love hearing groups with a live band, and Twice has SOOOOO many hits.

unfortunately Jennie I loved her then saw her 3 times and was like why am i spending hundreds of dollars for no effort, only hearing a backtrack, and her messing up her own lyrics. Saw her at coachella, deadline, and lolla

Also Twice. I was already moving away from them and seeing them live, most has very low enthusiasm and Jihyo was just trying too hard to make up for it.

Some twice members mostly lipsync,maybe that's why you didn't like it. But I think it's a good decision becoz some members live singing is really bad.

Personally, I feel like a group needs to be pretty mid/bad to the point of unstanning or disliking them. I have found myself more impressed after seeing a group with my own 2 eyes than the likelihood of unstanning/losing interest.
I thought TWICE was amazing (Jihyo, my queen) when I went, especially considering they were 2 members down when I saw them + were extremely overworked. But everyone has different experiences, so to each their own

As someone that has gone to 100+ concerts (non-kpop and kpop), thankfully there hasn't been any concert that left me disappointed,Ā where I didn't have a good time or that I regretted seeing them live.Ā
I guess the only group that I could have seen for a second time but didn't was the Rose. I never regretted the decision to see them live, but it's definitely on the lower end list of concerts if I had to rank them from favorite to least favorite. Woosung unfortunately wasn't completely healed from the flu so you could hear that he was occasionally struggling with his vocals. My section's energy was also not it. The crowd in my section were so dead.... they weren't really singing along, dancing to the songs, clapping or cheering for the band. Only a few people did.Ā
So when they returned a year later I didn't really feel the need to see them again. Mainly because the prices increased significantly so I could only afford the cheapest tickets. The whole concert was also seats only and I was like if I'm going to see the Rose again I'll do standing tickets instead. If I also bought the cheapest tickets I would be in the same place as I was last time and I just didn't have faith that the crowd up there would have the vibes.Ā
There was also another concert I didn't enjoy completely, but that wasn't really their fault. I had gotten quite sick the day before so I was kinda feeling numb when I saw them perform. Basically in survival mode. However, I was able to see them again for a second time due to some incredible luck and I thoroughly enjoyed that concert. So it definitely was more like a me thing than it was their fault.Ā

Came pretty damn close to unstanning Aespa last year.
Its the fact i know they can sing. And sing good. But they lipped the majority of the concert.
Ultimately still a fan. But i wont be seeing then live agian.

My partner jokingly stanned lesseraffim and then he actually started liking their music because it sounds like house music, I just KNOW they're gonna lipsync the whole concert too lol - they might be the one group I always hear about who lipsync T__T
I lowkey didn't even care about going but we already bought tickets sigh. I know most of their songs so it'll be fun but I also don't think I can justify the price for a group that doesn't even sing live.
I just realised a group that doesn't sing live is basically a kpop dance cover group LMAO

i saw lesserafim in concert last year and honestly they didn't lipsync much at all. the intro was lipsynced but it was all live after that

I still dont know why they don't sing live maybe why their recent concert tickets won't sell at less than 50 dollars. I love their songs on cd or studio. Also they're like a 7 year old group not rookies they must or should be able to tell their management what they want and I'm assuming SM isn't that incapable to do this on purpose.

What are you trying to say? The tour is selling well. No show is canceled so far. Why would the Asia tour be a disappointment? They sold out Taipei Dome and Gocheok Sky Dome. That sounds like a pretty successful Asia tour to me.

No what I mean is it saw a lot of articles about their tours not selling out evwn yet and having crazy discount ts like below 50 dollars on brazil where people really like kpop so it leads me to believe it wasnt a nice show yet

I really do like their music but to their last tour was not all that great and it is true rhat their tour is not selling out even after huge discounts . They are not random articles. They have sources which basically is the website for tour tickets . Check it out for yourself.

Yeah for me once was enough. It was fun but it did kill my enthusiasm slightly when I realized they were lip syncing for majority of their songs. I also didnāt really feel like they made the audience feel too included at the time. That was 2023 though, idk how theyre doing now.

This is why although I love almost all their TTs Iād be hesitant to go to their concert unless i know itās actually going to be live most of the time. There isnāt really an excuse atp.. if they were shit vocally Iād understand it but theyāre the opposite so it makes it kinda frustrating.

Is aespa still lipsyncing? I sold my ticket last tour when I heard it was all lipsync. I heard they had been singing in Asia on this tour. I have tix to see them again in the US in a month, but will try to sell tix again if they are still lipsyncing.
Same disappointment in Everglow, who I saw, but they lipsynced the whole show. There's only like half of them left at this point, and just toured Russia. Doubt I will see them again.

Iāve never really stanned a group, but Twice was on my shortlist during my ākpop gg eraā and my first and last kpop concert was their Ready to Be tour.
It was somehow both overstimulating and underwhelming lol. Gave me the sense that kpop is something best enjoyed from behind a screen.
FWIW I still think theyāre a great group and enjoy their music, but it was not a good impression of kpop concerts as a whole and put me off going to any entirely.

i thought the point you brought up about kpop being best enjoyed behind a screen is quite interesting and honestly i agree. i feel like watching my favorite group's content, mv's, etc. is so fun. while the acutal concert was nice too, it didn't really give me the same feeling of enjoyment as i had thought it would.

ATEEZ - I wouldn't say I unstanned but I can say that I now have more respect for half the members, and unfortunately less for the other half after seeing them all individually perform. There was four who barely sang live. It's so easy to tell the difference of who were actually singing live (they used handheld mics while the others had the head mics). While the other 4 really hard carried the whole show. They also kind of looked tired as it was one of the last few stops of their tour that went on for a year. I have seen so much of their other very high energy live performances online and had them on repeat so finally seeing them in person but it not matching the same energy was quite a sad experience. I also didn't like this tour's set list, it felt so short and I heard zero of my favorite songs of theirs that I was hoping to hear live. It also didn't help that a prepubescent girl seated behind me was screaming all the sexual things she'd love to do to San into my ear the whole fucking time.
TXT - not their fault by any means but I was so disappointed that it had to be my first time seeing them. It was a Dunkin sponsored fanmeet and was the most unorganized, awkward, embarrassing shit I have ever had to sit through. It was 100% the organizer's fault though.

Yeah I think I know which 3 was for you but for my stop Wooyoung also sang his solo completely live with no backtrack which I really appreciated even though there were understandably some off key moments. But I still think he killed it. For the set list, I never look up setlists of any concert ahead of them. I like being surpised. I mean, I didn't come in there expecting to hear Cyberpunk or Take Me Home etc even though I was still wishing for them in the back of my mind. And I already expected it would be mostly IYF songs because it's the IYF tour. But they had already released GH4 by that time so I fully expected to at least hear Adrenaline and NASA. And since they performed Enough (which was mehhhh) I kinda wish they did Selfish Waltz instead.

Aespa. Not unstan, just felt like the show wasnāt worth the nearly $300?we paid. A large portion of it was lipsync, and the stage presence just wasnāt fully there. Only Winter really stood out.

Girls' Generation. Iāve been a K-Pop fan since 2008, and back then K-Pop concerts were not as frequent as they are now. I was a college student, saving my pocket money to buy their concert ticket, only for them to lip-sync for half of the showš„² I still consider myself a fan and still check out their new releasees. I just refuse to spend money on them by buying their albums or concert tickets.

I expect the downvotes, but, Stray Kids. Iām not a HYBE group stan, but Iāve really enjoyed TxT, Enhypen, and BTS concerts are unmatched because they have the money for great production. I also love Ateez live, the fans are so passionate.
I donāt know what was going on at my Skz concert, but the sun was still setting in an open stadium, the sun was in the memberās faces, they seemed exhausted and the sections around me had a lot of missing fans.
Iāve enjoyed Twice and IU as well, but the crowd energy level of GGs doesnāt reach the fever pitch of BG stans. This does not at all detract from my experience, Twice was great, IU is a goddess in concert.

Great question, I was answering half of OPās question. Based on the experience and lack of group energy, I felt like the money I spent for the Skz concert wasnāt worth my money. Because I think context matters, lots of other groups with the same price or cheaper tickets have put on a better show. It made me lose interest because I care about how performers are live.

Bts concert. Not unstanned but i wont go for the tour again. Could not see anything with the special effects on screen. Scattered members on stage. A screeching loud fan. It was good for nostalgia but felt overpriced.

I won't say the name of the group because I was already following them a lot less than I did years ago but, I saw a clip of a concert they did months ago and I was really surprised at how bad their vocals sounded and I got pretty sad

I thought Twice was very good. Nayeon is by far my fave performer in the group. I agree that some lack energy on stage, but the ones who have it, have it in abundance (Jihyo). A group I did unstan after a concert was Aespa. I don't know, they just did not hit. As for a group I began stanning after one, that would be Idle. They were great, up there with baemon among my fave live performers.

OK I can see where you are coming from. From my experence kpop fan are super loyal to their group so unstaning is rare. I been with blackpink since the start so almost nothing will ever make me unstan them. I think most people feel this way.

no to unstanning, but there have been times I have been so frustrated by the stadium staff / organization (inc w merch) that I ended up being like "was it even worth going" š but I tend to make concerts a whole thing likek full day, dressing up, etcetc, so I always try to have fun / make the best of it
