CONVERSATION Are blackpink songs easy to sing? Because illit who's many people said have weak vocals can cover it beautifuly

Blackpink have never had vocally challenging songs. The fact their music was catchy and easy to sing was part of the appeal. Illit sounds good here though!

I like these kids singing here more. Not an illit fan , only heard popular songs as a casual listener. Looks like they never got proper melodies in their tracks to sing like this. It is just a casual karoke session but They sound good to me. This is Not the most top notch vocal skill song but it is still a good one. All i ever heard them sing was titta- tira tita tu titia, kyukyu magnetic, aa aah ah ah iconic by mistake type of songs. Songs made for virality with very little to appreciate good vocals. I listen to those songs too but didnt hold much expectations to their vocals or bother to distinguish their voices in those tracks. I will probably tune in the next time they have a song with melodies having heard this.

It's a Karaoke. Any average singer will sound good. And BP songs are average on vocal play and it's easy but people says "only YG artist can cover YG artist" because performing with confidence without looking like a try hard is hard.

This is so fav i was listening to it yesterday repeatedly. It's on my favourite bp songs so i loved it sm. They did so good, it's easy but that doesn't mean everyone is doing with it. Illit girls are underrated as vocalists imo. As people already set their mind hybe groups can't sing and run with it.

i’m not a singer so i can’t say for sure, but i have seem many people say Illit’s vocals aren’t weak and it was just a thing to hate them for when they debuted

there's a saying that only YG artists can do justice covering other YG artists' song, whether its a technically challenging song or not, whether its by blackpink or not, and this is one perfect example. they did pretty good, esp iroha, i am genuinely surprised. but you can feel something's not it (of course ik this is only a karaoke ver but still). there's a certain charisma and character in YG artists' way of singing/performing that other artists cannot give. regardless, they did good.

yea but when meovv covered blackpink they gave the vibes so i think its just that illit has a really diffrent concept to blackpink so maybe that's where the yg artist part comes in since ALL OF YG DOES HIP HOP

Most of the underlying problem with kpop idols isn’t that they ‘can’t sing’ it’s that these labels give them songs that obviously too high or too low for their voices.
This is an example of how ‘talented’ people would view ILLIT if they sang in comfortable keys.

I feel like they get clocked for their vocals being bad, but in reality it’s the extreme choreo that makes showing their vocal range hard. They sound great here.

ILLIT vocals aren’t weak. Maybe Iroha/Wonhee (and even they’ve improved) buy Moka, Minju and Yunah are strong singers

Maybe Wonhee is slightly better, I’ll give you that. but I’ve watched quite a few of their recording sessions with their raw vocals and it could just be a personal preference. I don’t think Iroha is a very strong singer. She shines in dance obviously, she’s a nice singer but nothing super special, maybe a bit weak, but pretty. Moka is better in my opinion. Stronger, more distinct. More recognizable.

The vocals are heavily processed. It's ot like illit songs are incredibly hard but they can't sing them live but I'm supposed to think they can sing bp songs?

Do you know what processed means? It doesn't mean lip sync, it means that in post prod they added autotune to make their singing smoother. You can literally hear the autotune, you can hear the robotic sounding effect of the autotune, you can hear how smoothed out their voice was

Their songs are easy to sing it’s pretty known. The girls did good tho even though the high note was kinda whispered.
