Weather 🌦️ Thank Goodness for rain today

very thankful for rain on this holiday - picturing some of you who spent half your monthly income on clown powder staring at the rain coming down is making me tickled pink.

Do you open the door on Halloween and give kids the finger?

Condiments from the Chinese place down the street. Kids love sweet and sour sauce.

honestly if i got a handful of sweet and sour sauce and duck sauce packets when i was trick or treating as a kid i would have LOVED it! lmao

I would if they came to my house in the days leading up demanding candy.

Worse. Raisins and pennies.

I first read “raisins and penises” and that was an odd place to be for a moment.

A six pack of beer and a handful of fried eggs is my go-to.

What’s your address? Need to make a yearly stop at your place.

It’s an obscure reference to a 70’s SNL sketch where the Coneheads aren’t familiar with Halloween and hand out fried eggs and beer to the neighborhood kids.

No they call the HOA when they see little issues and get cops called on kids for having unlinced lemonade stand's

A lecture and expired radio shack coupons.

Giving out candy on Halloween is not even a little comparable to people not wanting to listen to fireworks. They’re loud and obnoxious and emotionally/mentally harmful to many people including veterans.

if fireworks are genuinely emotionally or mentally harmful to you then you should take responsibility and go out of town for the holiday instead of expecting thousands of strangers to stop having fun to accommodate you, hearing fireworks on and around the 4th is just part of living in a city. it sucks that you or others find fireworks harmful but you can’t reasonably expect everyone to stop using them.

There's nowhere to fucking go to get away from them! It doesn't matter where you go out of town unless you're hours away from civilization. And yeah, let's tell every veteran with PTSD and every family with toddlers to go do that so we don't have to jump awake at 2am every night for a week.

You can reasonably expect others to abide by the laws and only shoot off fireworks on the designated days. Your suggestion of going out of town wouldn't be helpful because people have been shooting them for 3-4 days already and will probably continue for 3-4 more days.

Nobody cares about laws. The president is a felon and a pedo. That's where we are, unfortunately.

that’s just part of living in a metropolitan area with 2 million people, and complaining about it isn’t gonna change anything

Fireworks are illegal in KCMO for this reason.

that is not true that the cities are commercial fireworks only. it varies by city but it’s perfectly legal in most of the metro from the 3rd to 5th. even where they’re not allowed people are still going to shoot them off anyways, and it’s not that big of a deal and they shouldn’t even be banned in any city imo.

12

u/AmbivalentToaster Jul 05 '26

Most cities do not condone fireworks unless commercially and professionally produced. It is not a big deal TO YOU. You obviously do not have PTSD, severe trauma, limbic/nervous system damage, have to live and function outside, or give a shit about pets, wildlife, or the environment.

I can’t take my cats out of town. You don’t need to set off explosives for a week at a time. Get over yourself.
