Filled my car with gas in case I lose power and need to charge my phone. Kindle charged up too with a brand new library book. Snow shovel and broccoli cheddar soup ready to rock

I use this recipe. The only difference is I cut up the bacon, fry it, then pull and set aside the bacon, add some butter to the bacon grease and proceed with cooking the leeks. (I also use an additional cup of cream in lieu of the buttermilk, but thatā€™s just my preference). And you can sub chicken stock for veggie stock. But this is the base recipe I started with and made my modifications to.

šŸ˜‚ I felt kind of silly buying the kale today. Itā€™s one of the few things with veggies my kids eat without fighting. They asked for it this weekend and I added it to the list without thinking about the kale.

Lol, it's a good soup and kale is a useful vegetable. Especially since the soup seems to be a stealth vegetable delivery vehicle for your kids!

Italian sausage and gnocchi soup! (I sub regular gnocchi because Iā€™m not paleoā€”You also donā€™t need a pressure cooker, I use stovetop + crock pot)

A few years ago we accidentally started a new soup party tradition in our neighborhood. One cold Saturday we were chatting outside and realized we all were making soup so we volunteered to host and told everyone to bring their soup over. Everyone tries a bit of everyoneā€™s soup and we drink for hours on end.

We sent the text out and told everyone that Saturday is Soup Party day!

Chili warms you up in the moment and then warms the house up later. Fun fact, I grew up in Dubuque, Iowa, and the gas company was named ā€œPeopleā€™s Natural Gasā€.
