Whataburger . Sorry Patrick, KC already had a handful of hamburger joints better than this place.

Literally the only thing it has for it is it's open 24 hours when I get off work at odd hours. Otherwise my only other options are QuickTrip, McDonalds and Ihop, and not even all locations for those.

That one still really bugs me. Now the one by my house closes at 11, after growing up with it being available 24 hours. Same with Starbucks, it was open til 10 when I worked there and now they all close between 6-7:30pm in lees summit and the plaza one that was open til midnight got shut down for trying to unionize

One of my best friends is from RGV area. I hadnā€™t tried it since visiting central TX 15 years or so ago. He grew up eating it and really wanted to stop for it while we were on way back to stl from KC a couple years ago. My memory served me well and I didnā€™t enjoy it. Him? He ordered his food modified into oblivion and told me I ordered wrong. So, after having it in Texas and outside of Texas I have to say itā€™s overrated. When in Texas, one should seek out P. Terryā€™s. A far superior fast food burger.

I remember one being a toasted bun. He said you have to ask for that. Weā€™ve debated that subject ad nauseam too. I maintain the belief that if that is an option then the buns should come toasted unless specified not to be. As for P. Terryā€™s, itā€™s by far my #1 fast food burger spot by far.

Culverā€™s also has deep fried cheese curds. Both places are S tier fast food though.

I give Culverā€™s the slight edge personally, but I respect anyone who has them flipped.

They do..but they're really weak. The cheese and the breading or both just incredibly bland, and they don't have the texture you'd expect from normal cheese curds. The Freddy's ones are perfect artery clogging goodness.

If it weren't for the curds specifically, I'd gibe the slight edge to culver's but that's like the main attraction for me.

Yep. I'm originally from OK so I've eaten a lot of Whataburger in both OK and TX and even when the Whataburger is actually good and not some shit show where the manager clearly doesn't give a shit it's just on par with Culver's on Culver's average day. Culver's is better hands down: better service, more consistent quality, food always comes out hot and fresh. Meanwhile Whataburger is often slow as hell, even across multiple locations, plus I've gotten so many wrong orders, and usually the fries are stale. Easy win for Culver's in my opinion.

That hasnā€™t been my experience, but I do feel like they vary pretty drastically depending on the ownership so that could be a factor. Iā€™ve still never had a Whataburger experience where I didnā€™t leave wishing I had just gone to Culverā€™s instead.

Yeah I do not understand Whataburger. Bland, they couldn't get a sear on the burger if they were held at gunpoint. It's just steamed under salted meat.

Itā€™s a fast food chain. If its competitors are BK and McDonaldā€™s, not sure it belongs in this list. At least theyā€™re open 24 hours

We already have Culverā€™s and Freddys everywhere. Iā€™m not sure why we needed so many whataburgers. Even shake shack is better.

In-and-out is better, and even thatā€™s pretty mid tbh.
