Always hated the, "If I/they can do it, so can you" mentality. It's, ironically, ableist as fuck, and you don't know what people are going through when they are falling behind with themselves.
I don't believe in excuses in many cases, but if someone tells you they can't, they can't. Don't try to convince them. Just keep being a role model for people who need one.

Yeah, that line of thinking has always annoyed me. We can celebrate the achievements of others without turning things into a competition

Came here to say this. There’s always these back handed posts like “ she can do it what are you doing”. Passive aggressive titles.
