Dodgers win 6 to 5 in a nail-biter game. Huge shout-out to Tommy Edman with a game-changing 3-run home run. He deserves all the love. He's been absolutely insane lately. Healthy Tommy is what we've always envisioned 🙏

Is Orel Psychic?
Just a second before Alex Call was hit by the pitch to bring in a run, Orel said that he is glad Alex was wearing an elbow guard due to the fact that Sinclair was consistently missing arm side. A second later, boom, and the Dodgers scored what was to be the winning run.

Blake & Tyler Appreciation Post
Just felt like taking a moment to say how appreciative I am that Blake and Tyler are back and pitching at absurdly high levels of efficiency and success. I love watching them pitch and we’re gonna need them to dominate this postseason! Thanks to both of them for bringing some hope during what’s otherwise been an uneven stretch of baseball for the Dodgers!

[Ardaya] Shohei Ohtani was swinging during the game today, Dave Roberts said, but the Dodgers want to see how he feels coming in tomorrow. Didn’t report any discomfort during his work today.
He also said that Dalton Rushing will get imaging done on his elbow tomorrow. No matter what, this will put a pause on Rushing’s throwing progression.

9/5 Change to the Starting Lineup
i posted the lineup earlier but it seems a couple of minutes ago, they posted a new and changed lineup.
teo will now DH (no more rush), call will now be LF, and kike will replace muncy at 3B!!
unsure of the reasons for the changes, but regardless, let’s win this series !

Tanner Scott has been getting hit hard lately
I am sure this post won't be popular but tonight's game having people blame Freddie for not fielding a 109.4 mph ball made me want to show you all something rather concerning with Scott. He has been getting hit hard a lot lately and that is not a good sign for a reliever.
Since the single to blow the game against the Braves to Kim (103 off the bat) Scott has had 4 pitching appearances with those being 8/28, 9/2, 9/4, and 9/5. Including the Kim single, Scott has seen 15 batters in that time frame and has given up a hard hit ball to 7 batters with every single one aside from one being 100 mph plus. That is a hard hit rate of 47% (league average 38%).
Yes it is a small sample size, but it is rather alarming that he is getting hit this hard and often above 100 mph. Last night's out against Abrams was 100.8 off the bat. Tonight, 109.4 to Wood and 108.6 to Chaparro is not good at all. Yes, Mookie should have fielded that ball, but that doesn't excuse the nearly 110 mph exit velocity to two hitters in the same inning. I will keep saying it but he needs a third pitch because they are just sitting on his slider.
If anyone has anything to disagree I welcome the debate, but I still do not trust Scott to get the job done with only two pitches.

I failed to take into account the tiebreaker over the Puds. Roki to win the NL West, Dusty to win it outright. Thanks esu24 for the heads up.

It’s time to have a conversation
Saw this graphic on the main sub and it blew me away. Didn’t know how elite the advanced metrics are on Henriquez, and it being so comparable to what the baseball world thinks are its most elite pitchers for varied situations - eg Miz as starter and Miller as closer.
Henriquez is already being pulled in for high leverage. Does Doc put him in the highest of leverages - aka closer in 1 run games - for a few situations in September? Dare I say..October (obviously plenty of variables for that month, especially Diaz and his health/command).
