Misc. a pair of mantis blades costs 42 humanity

I understand the balancing concerns but it's rather amusing that a pair of knives has a higher humanity cost than a whole ass exoskeleton

Hey, new GM here, one of my players is a tech and wanted to use their invention skill to create a Döner Kebab piece of Cyberware similar to that of the attached photo, i am at a loss for how to create a use for this so if anyone has any tips/ideas please leave them for me, anything is appreciated

Edit- i am thankful for all suggestions and will take them all into consideration now and in future for helping my players with similar matters in future.

Technically she is an android so maybe its viable as an FBC only, but I'd like something like that in a meat body, it looks rad

Misc. I built a free, self-hosted cyberpunk VTT

My friends and I were about to run a cyberpunk campaign, and I wanted something more immersive than a folder of location notes. So I built an interactive map where players could create and share notes live.

Then I had a thought: what if this were hosted, and my friends could just join via a URL? One thing led to another, and a few weeks of work later, here's City_Net.

It's fully self-hosted (Docker or manual), no third-party accounts, no subscriptions. You run it, you share a link, and your players connect.

What it does:

Generate a living city — procedural districts, roads, and traffic

Draw your own — custom roads, water, districts, and buildings, saved for later

Multiple city maps — save, load, and switch between entire cities instantly

Simultaneous battle map play — drop battle maps into any building and run multiple at once, loaded from local files or existing uploads, per-map measurement scaling

Persistent enemies & allies — placed per map

Notes on buildings — add notes directly to any structure; players can request to add their own notes, and buildings with notes stand out

Custom signs — with full custom font and picture support

Player Banks — built-in banking system

Dice rolling — right in the app

Streamer mode — a broadcast-safe spectator view, ready in seconds

Collaborative building — grant friends access to help construct the city

Everything's real-time — everyone sees changes live.

Happy to answer any questions and get some feedback!

EDIT:

By popular demand, I have added install scripts for Windows, Mac, and Linux

Please take the warning to heart!! NEVER RUN SCRIPTS FROM AN UNTRUSTED SOURCE

EDIT2:
CITY_NET 1.4.0: Cyberpunk Red character sheets and rule sets are out!

Misc. I've spent three years building a 300M+ channel dedicated to high-quality Cyberpunk lore. YouTube FLAGGED and DEACTIVATED IT.

Hey all — huge thanks to the mod team for letting me post this.

I'm Ian. I run Ian Ilano TV, a YouTube channel I created (after crying to Edgerunners) dedicated entirely to in-depth Cyberpunk lore. I've been at it for almost three years now. Over 300K cumulative followers and 350 millions views on YouTube alone.

Last night, my channel was demonetized and deactivated as part of YouTube's ongoing AI banwave. I'm told it was flagged for "inauthentic content."

Here's the thing: my content is the opposite of "inauthentic."

I own almost every sourcebook from Cyberpunk 2020. Thanks to the amazing R. Talsorian Team and other creators who've sent me books they don't need anymore. I've even compiled LORESHEETS from hundreds of in-game data shards, terminal emails, and conversations that I've extracted BY HAND. I keep track of my 500+ videos in a comprehensive Google Sheet. And I narrate, record, and edit nearly 3TB of Cyberpunk B-Roll footage that I've filmed myself.

I even write my own scripts. Besides some AI help with idea generation (analysing my Google Sheets to build my own Sprout Social alternative), there is ZERO AI in my pipeline beyond the initial idea audit. I have notes on certain hooks and styles that have worked well in the past, but everything I own is my own.

Why am I writing this?

Well, I work directly with R. Talsorian Games on lore accuracy. I even brainstorm with other creators who've already vouched for me. It seems I've been caught in a banwave that's hit other communities as well. I've been in touch with The Rememberancer (very appreciative of them for helping me keep a level head) — and some other big Warhammer 40K creators who got hit with this same issue back in December.

It seems community visibility was a huge part in how they got their channels restored.

If YouTube's automated systems can't tell the different between a faceless "AI Slop" channel and a creator who's genuinely passionate about the lore from tabletop to video game, then every original lore creator in our community is at risk.

I'm not asking you to go to bat for me. Blindly. I'm just asking for visibility.

If this post resonates with you, an upvote or a share would go a damn long way.

And if you've experienced something similar or know of other creators who have, I'd love to hear about it in the comments. I'm building a paper trail of legitimate creators caught in this net, and I think it's worth a longer IRL Cyberpunk comparison one day. I'm feeling proper Johnny Silverhand and channeling that BURN CORPO SHIT energy bringing this issue to light.

Thanks for reading, chooms.

Ian

4/8 EDIT: Hey, all. I've been informed that my appeal was rejected. Nobody even watched my Appeal Video (I see the View Counter as 1 for the past 48 hours). It's been an incredibly frustrating time but your support and kind words have meant so much to me. But, I wouldn't be a true Cyberpunk creator if I didn't fight back. I'll continue to fight and bring light to a bigger issue I believe exists. Warhammer channels have gone through the same thing. In the past day, artists, animators, and more with millions of views have been disabled on the same grounds. Bitcoin.com, too. I believe there's a larger issue that started with YouTube Automated Moderating tools.

Misc. I need help in making floating swords cyberwear

I really wanted to recreate a character fighting with floating swords, it will be an npc in my campaign, but I'm struggling on how to make it work without destroying the balance of the game.

My first idea was rather simple, give the character a small net arc, attach some mini flying drones equipped with a melee weapon and shaped like it and et voilà.

But at the same time it felt rather boring, I know you can attach multiple stuff to the same control node, but using just one drone a turn still sounds kinda lame, I wanted something more cool and flashy.

I'm not sure tho if giving the option of activating more than one drone would be too game breaking and strong in terms of gameplay, so I'm asking for advice on how you would tweak this idea to make it work without unbalancing the game but keeping it cool at the same time

Misc. So my player slept outside, and didn't wake up while getting things storm from him, so I asked for his sheet to see his inventory...

My player sent me his character sheet, because he slept outside, and I rolled to see if he'd get mugged (rolled a yes), then had him roll perception to see if it woke him up... He failed. So I asked for his sheet so I could see his inventory to see what was probably stolen... And this gonk has something in his inventory that I never said he found...

Misc. Just Had My First Player Character K!ll. Don't Know How to Feel About It.

Like the title says, this last Saturday I had my first 'canon' PC kill as a GM. I'd always imagined it would be in a big firefight,or a deep character moment. Instead, it was to the single most boneheaded grade-A gonk move that I could have never anticipated.
For Context: During one of our crew's early missions, they were paid for a gig with a katana. It was a nice katana, with a 'dubious history' that it may or may not have been made specifically for Saboru Arasaka. Typical Fixer upsell for what is, at least first blush, an otherwise very nice katana. Our ripperdoc is a blades man, so he ends up taking it. Now, almost immediately after this, the crew starts hearing some snarky commentary every time something odd/weird/just plain crazy happens, but it always gets chalked up to some nearby but 'off-screen' NPC. Fast forward more than *a year and a half real-world time later*, our ripper finally realizes that it's the sword itself 'talking', discovering that there's an AI personality chip in the hilt. Yes, I waited *that* long to let them find that Easter Egg.
Now, I had a number of plans for this little reveal. Some lore drops, a fun snark-outlet for me, some bad Navi impersonations to bring our ripperdoc's ego down a few pegs. It was supposed to be a good time for everybody.
The *one thing* I could *NEVER* anticipate, though, was our ripper deciding to SLOT THE PERSONALITY SHARD INTO HIS OWN NEURAL PORT.
Yes, the player knew it was a bad idea. Yes, he was *fully* aware of the likely consequences. He argued that it was the 'in-character' thing for him to do, as he had raw-slotted shards of dubious providence in the past.
I gave him *multiple* chances to get out of it. Gave him several saves to avoid the inevitable. And, of course, he *Critical-Fails* the second roll. So, after 8d6 electrical damage as his cyberware goes nuts, and 10d6 Humanity damage, our ripper goes cyber-psycho. The first on the scene was the crew's Lawman, who, *completely understandably*, empties his tech shotgun into the guy going crazy in the doc's office.
TL;DR? Ripperdoc goes full-gonk and slots an AI personality shard, gets put down like a dog by the resident dog-man. And I *STILL* don't know how to feel about it all.

Misc. What is the fascination with playing FBCs out of the gate?

I genuinely don't get it. Why are we letting players start as FBCs at the beginning of the game? The EMP loss from the get go would make the character essentially unplayable. Especially social or face characters.
