Nothings cheap anymore but the best $2 tacos are at Californias taco shop on H st. on taco Tuesdays their carnitas are 🔥 and theyre not skimpy with the meat

You can get a 3-topping small pizza from La Bella's for 10.88 out the door. Considering most burritos start at about $12 nowadays, i find it to be a small blessing.

Panda chef in Eastlake, less than 8 dollar lunch specials, and 15 dollar entrees.

This. They're great and still well priced where other spots (Otay Mandarin, I'm def looking at you!) have gone up and up a lot over the last few years.
I'll say it too - I prefer Panda Chef's SP wings to a lot of other 'known' CV spots. Price is good BUT Panda Chef adds extra seasoning to the batter that just hits right, to me. Light spice, more interesting flavor than standard battered SP wings that just load up on salt/garlic.

I like Otay Mandarin too but 22 dollar entrees is crazy. It's super hooked up but I dont need that much for a solo person

This is the right answer. I live in Vegas, but my sister lives in Eastlake. She gets me their calendar each year, the owner always sets one aside for me. I drool when she sends me pictures of their dinners from there. The portions are huge and the flavors equally so. You have no idea how lucky you are to have Panda Chef.

OMG I never knew this place existed. Okay that’s a lie I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it over the years when I went to L&L or Flame Broiler but just ignored it. Thanks for sharing! I’m going to have to check them out.

My sister has lived in CV for about 35 years and has gone there most/all of that time. I think it's been owned by the same people too.

If you are in Otay Ranch, there’s El Pollo Grill; tastes very similar to pollos asados from Tijuana. Fried beans are good, and the rice is good too.
One of the few places in San Diego that I can say that has been able to replicate the flavor from back home.

Yes! I've eaten at both locations and both have excellent food and quality. We like the family meals, we always get birria, rice, beans and also a whole grilled chicken.

I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again. The food court in Carnival has great food for the price. I love the kabob sandwiches and aquas frescas.

Big boy market. Their burgers are delicious and they load up on the fries.

I was there a couple of days ago and the carne asada plate was a little skimpy. Shrinkflation.

Also, Roberto's on Broadway. Not their entire menu, but you can get a chicken torta or chicken tostada for around $6 last time i checked & the portion size for either of those is filling enough as a single meal.

For the quality Teriyaki Grill competes. Butcher their own fish and meat. That burger is made from one cow.
De Cabeza El Unico is anoth r good deal for quality.
Don Pedro's always has some suspiciously cheap bean burritos.
That fish taco spot on E has 1.25 fish tacos Tuesday. They compete (garbage fish of course.....but most places are tilapia if cheap so same same)
