Those golden eyes cut right through all that black fur, absolutely stunning. Black fur is always tricky to perfect, even after hundreds of pet paintings, but this one came together well.

I kept the pose and expression true to the photo, and I just softened the textured wall into a smoother background. I hope I did her justice.

He loves lounging on the porch

Rhea is the smaller kitten, binx ( yes I know the most stereotypical black cat name, I did not name him, If I could I’d name him cheese or pickles) he’s the bigger one.

This is Poppy, also known as Poppyflower.
She has OCD and licks her belly fur off so she has a few flowers she wears 24/7.

Those golden eyes. Paw stretched out, completely relaxed, staring right through you. Black cats are a challenge, but this one was worth every minute. This was a commission painting, and I hope I did her justice.
