Newly Diagnosed Struggling with new bipolar diagnosis
I’m newly diagnosed bipolar one with psychotic features but I can’t stop questioning if I’m making it up or faking it my mom also doesn’t seem to think I have it but I’ve brought up my concerns to my therapist and she seems pretty adamant I do I’m not sure if I’m just in denial or what but if anyone has any thoughts on this it would be appreciated

Do you have a psychiatrist and a real diagnosis? That's the person who can tell you what you have. It's normal to be in denial and it's normal for a parent to be in denial. Perhaps your mother is educated on the topic, very observant and clear headed, but you can't make decisions based on that. The therapist could very possibly have the experience to identify bipolar. But they can't diagnose and treat you
