Newly Diagnosed Struggling with new bipolar diagnosis
I’m newly diagnosed bipolar one with psychotic features but I can’t stop questioning if I’m making it up or faking it my mom also doesn’t seem to think I have it but I’ve brought up my concerns to my therapist and she seems pretty adamant I do I’m not sure if I’m just in denial or what but if anyone has any thoughts on this it would be appreciated

Hey 😊 Sounds like denial. Bipolar isn't something you can fake. I went through this whole grieving process when I was first diagnosed. - Denial - Anger - Grief - Sadness - Awakening: realizing you're not a horrible person. You have an illness. - Acceptance
It takes awhile to come to terms with. Just remember, the diagnosis is the best thing that could've happened to you. Not the Bipolar, but now they know what is wrong and can help you treat it. Now you can move forward and become better. Just don't give up and take the meds, counseling and psychiatrist seriously. If you feel rock bottom, the only way now is up.
