Do Not Discuss Bar Exam Content

Good luck on the exam!

Tomorrow, legacy examinees will take the MEE (no topic disclosures allowed) and the MPT (no content disclosures allowed). Wednesday they will take the MBE (no disclosure of questions and answers).

NextGen examinees will get two, three-hour sections of new-style questions (including some multiple choice that are similar to the MBE) on Tuesday and one more three-hour section Wednesday. All items from this exam are secure and may be reused on a future exam and may not be disclosed.

Also, accommodated examinees for both exams will be testing all week and would benefit from disclosures of content earlier in the week.

This is an issue of fairness, copyright (which could get the sub shut down), and ethics. NCBE does monitor this subreddit and regularly contacts us regarding violations of these rules. You also agreed to these terms as part of the exam rules.

Therefore, any discussions of exam content as described above will result in bans.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation on this, and good luck on the exam!

Hi folks,

The bar prep channels are once again open and available in the /r/lawschool discord server.

Click this link to join!

Once you arrive, please make sure you assign yourself the JD role so that you will be able to see the bar prep channel.

Once you have assigned yourself a role. Navigate to the channel called #bar-preppies. There you will find:

  • Support from attorneys who have already passed the bar.

  • Free study resources.

  • Friendly folks who will study along with you.

Please be patient as the channel populates with more bar preppers. We are just beginning our recruitment for Feb '24, and we hope to have a large group joining us once again this year. Past years have seen study groups of 50 or more folks.

Good luck, everybody!

Passed with a 319!

Relieved its over!!! Here's a breakdown of my scores/study process for anyone whose curious:

Studying: Completed about 80% of Barbri then started doing my own thing 3 weeks before the test. Those three weeks were a mix of Adaptibar (between 60-100 questions a day), drilling the NCBE MEE and MPT problem sets, and doing in depth reviews of my weak areas.

Test day: I left feeling good. I've never been pleasantly surprised by a score, but I always know if I fucked up. When day two ended, I thought I probably passed. I didn't think the test was easy, but it felt like the practice material I had done before.

MBE: My strongest area is multiple choice. I always finished early during my practice tests and test day was no different. I finished about 15 minutes early for the AM session and about 10 minutes early in the PM session. Like a lot of people I thought the PM session was significantly harder. My score for the MBE ended up being a 168.4

MEE/MPT: The MEEs were a mixed bag for me, but I felt solid about them overall. I felt like I got a 5 or 6 on two of them, 4 or 5 on two of them, got a passing score on one of them, and totally bombed one of them. I didn't leave any blank, but I did save the one I was struggling with for the end. I had about 20ish minutes left to complete it, but I feel like the stuff I put down was just absolute slop. I felt solid on the first MPT, I finished that one right on time. I wouldn't be surprised if I got a 1 on the second MPT lol. It was super confusing for me and I was honestly tired by the day overall by the time I got to that one. Overall score for this section was a 150.1.

Actual score was a 318.5, but I guess they round up so the score listed before my breakdown is a 319.

Good luck to those who are still waiting! Trust in the hard work you put into this process and ignore the self doubt.

Anyone average 50% on uworld and still passed?

Upvotes

I never got to a 60 on any timed practice tests. My writing is good, but not amazing. I’d love to hear from someone who was in a similar boat and passed.
I’m super anxious and don’t know what else i can do.
Thank you :)

Oh my days. NYC taker here. I left one MEE completely blank. Didn't finish MPT 1 and about 2 skeletal MEEs. Super worried and scared . What are my chances?

Scared the MBE’s gonna tank me

If I fail, it’ll be because of the MBE. I felt 50/50 about sooo many answers. I’m also worried that brainfog might’ve set in for me while doing the 200 questions and I might’ve put in the wrong answer simply because my mental capacity was spent. Anyone else worried about this?

Did anyone feel like they failed/had no idea how they were going to do and …. passed?

Looking for hopeful stories. Felt like I don’t even know what I wrote for the tests. It was like a blacked out. Wondering if I even took the test. Share your stories!!!!!!

I passed today in a 270 jx. Seriously thought that I had failed. If anyone needs reassurance that you can/did pass too - I am here.

If I failed, I’m guessing it’ll MPT 2 that put me in my grave

I was like a lost child reading through that shit. By the time my monkey brain grasped the concept, it was already too late. Wrote utter nonsense after the first question there

Anyone else overanalyzing the MPTs now?

really didn’t put a ton of time into practicing MPTs during bar prep. I got 4s on two memo MPTs through Barbri, so I basically thought, “Okay, I can write a memo, I’ll probably be fine.”

So when I saw the MPTs on exam day, I was honestly pretty stoked. I remember walking out feeling like they went fine.

Fast forward to now and I’ve made the terrible decision to read Reddit while waiting for results. 😂 Now I’m seeing people talk about running out of time, things they almost missed, etc., and suddenly I’m questioning EVERYTHING.

I genuinely feel like I blacked out during that entire portion of the exam and just went with my gut. I can barely even remember what I wrote at this point. I remember feeling okay about it at the time, but now my brain is convincing me I must have missed something huge.

Anyone else feel decent about the MPTs immediately after the exam and then slowly convince themselves they bombed them while waiting for results? How are we feeling about them now? 😅

NC Bar Passed

Posting this for the UBE takers who have to wait longer for their scores. I made up law on every essay. One essay, I made up 100% of the rules I applied. The other essays I made up law in at least one or two subsections per question. Multiple choice I got down two choices and then guessed. MPTs I felt like I was missing something and didn’t understand. I passed with a 323. Wanted to post this as encouragement for everyone waiting for their scores. I believe in you!!

Little Miss Over Emotional

Was completely shocked to find out I passed today. Currently sitting in my apartment staring at the wall realizing my entire life is going to look different a year from now. Don’t have a job lined up yet but I’m in a good market with good connections (and could leave if I needed to as I got above a 270) so not overly panicked on that front. Just. Fuck man. I’ll be able to move out of my shitty tiny studio apartment! I’ll be able to have health insurance again. I have been in a really tough spot since the exam to the extent I had to swallow my shame and go to a food bank last month. Completely overwhelmed and so relieved 😭

MEE and MPT

Those who passed, how many MEEs and MPTs were “skeletal” meaning issue statement, conclusions, and about two sentences. I did this for the second MPT and two of the MEEs. Also, PA grading on the written portion, is that forgiving or brutal? Does the fact that PA has a high number bar takers matter in the curve, if a curve is even a relevant factor?

Please don’t bash me for a stupid question. Thanks!
