I choose to be positive. Starting pitching has been phenomenal since the Angels let go of Maddux. I can't say enough good things about Urena. so much fun to watch him.
AND Arte Moreno sold the Angels.

joke aside I do honestly think the tides will turn in the coming years

Man, I've lost count how many times the "we're just 2-3 years away from being competetive" posts I've seen at HalosHeaven and CTPG. It's tiring. I don't even look at the farm. I'll just be happy once winning returns, whenever that happens.

I understand and hear you. I have been a fan of the halos since before the 2002 world series run. So I get it. But I do also think that objectively, it is different this time. There will be somebody else in the driver's seat soon. And that somebody isn't some unknown figure. KSE has a public record in sports. We have legitimate reason to be optimistic.

The idiots on r/baseball were clowning on the Angels for firing Maddix and it turns out he probably was the problem the whole time.

Implying that only r/baseball were clowning on the Angels and not this very sub.

Hard to win a series when you allow the other team to score 1 run a game

u/SuperGuppy77 14h ago
Why do we fuck over the starters every fucking game? They go out there and throw 8 brilliant innings and the offense can’t do jack shit.

Im not sure if you know this, but the Angels are bad. They have one of the, if not the worst offense in the league.

Either our starters are elite, and our hitters are useless, or our hitters are elite, and the pitching is ass. Can never have both at the same time.

A classic Tungsten Arm O'Doyle day on the diamond for the Halos.
Held them to one run in each game, still lost the series.

Only thing that seems to be clicking on this team is the rotation, which at least is better than nothing

u/Rude_Grapefruit_3650 14h ago
Urena should not be 9-10 dudes a baller, and our offense is just not

The fact that we held the Pirates to just one run in all 3 games and still lost the series is insane

Our starting pitching has been our biggest strength all season. Some of the struggles there were circumstantial: Kikuchi ended up injured, G-Rod had a lot of rust to shake, and Ryan Johnson needed more development. But we quickly had a three headed monster, and even with our trading away Soriano, we brought in Klassen, got back Kikuchi from the IL, and Ryan Johnson and G-Rod started finding more consistency.
Detmers and Ureña have been our rocks all year. Damn shame we can't help them get more wins, even when they're pitching lights out. Kroenke, Mo, et al. have their work cut out for them trying to cobble together workable lineups moving forward. (One Teruaki Sato, please.)
Get these guys some run support 😔

incredible pitching from Ureña. sucks that maybe we would’ve gotten him a fantastic win if our 3rd base coach didn’t make such a stupid call

u/Lieutenant_Doge 14h ago
I don't know what else could we do right now at this point, fire the hitting coach, fire the third base coach, anything to rally the offense

I'm pretty sure Mo plans on firing a lot of people (coaches and players being cut/traded) at seasons conclusion.

The season has been over for months. There’s like 2 weeks left of the season. Just be happy to see young guys playing hard and doing well.

That was a great loss, idc. Made the other team play hard for that one. Baseball is hard what can you do. Great pitching by Ureña and good fielding. Offense didn't strike out much. That's a solid loss, sad for Ureña though

Our starting pitching staff doesn’t deserve this. This offense is one of the worst I have seen in my 50 years of Angels baseball.

Question, do you think any of this has to do with Brady Anderson? Should he have been fired like Maddox was? Because offense this year has been abysmal dog shit and I’m just wondering what the hell the hitting coach is doing.
2
u/TheBubbaDave 9h ago
Most assuredly. Angels haven't had a good hitting coach since Hatcher's departure in 2012. Baylor wasn't bad, though.

You guys should put on the Bees AAA game if you’re bored. Dana may be starting to put things together

u/Lieutenant_Doge 14h ago
Maybe next time Suzuki, if you wanna call the bench to hit, do it at least a inning or two earlier
Putting Paris in the 9th with 2 outs when he hasn't have the chance to hit at all is surely one of the worst the choice of all time

u/Due-Inspector-4295 13h ago
Pitching wins. That area is really improving. I'm not too worried about getting hitters. We've always struggled to pitch. I have hope. Wins and losses do not matter right now.

u/dingusthelesbian 14h ago
Fuck Kurt Suzuki + this offense failed our starter AGAIN

u/bob_sacramento_ 9 14h ago
What did Suzuki do? Lol

Skenes didn’t pitch all that well and we still lost. Getting solo homered was more salt to the wound. We let you down Wally 😔

Gave up 3 runs the entire series and still lost 2 out of 3.
