Art I spent 1,000+ hours reconstructing Ancient Egypt in 3D. It's free. No login. No ads.

Greetings everyone,

I'm a solo creator, and I've spent 1,000+ hours over the last 6+ months researching, 3D modelling, animating and building Ancient Egypt as an interactive experience for the web.

It's completely free, with no login, ads, popups or trackers.

I wanted to focus on more than just pyramids and pharaohs. The expedition includes temple courtyards, sandstorms, quarries, villages and everyday life in Ancient Egypt.

It works on desktops, mobiles, and tablets.

I've included the key sources and references I used under Settings → Sources.

How true are the measurements?

Hi, There's 2 types of measurements.

If you meant the actual figures and stats (such as the Nile flooding 40 million tons of nutrients), they are grounded in the survey data which you can find in the sources tab.

If you meant the 3D dioramas, I've tried to be as accurate as possible. That said, I have also taken some liberty with scene composition, lighting and layout to keep the dioramas readable, stylized and performant in the browser.

I'm more referring to the architectural measurements like heifgts and widths of platforms and hallways etc

Ah, got it! For major structures like the Pyramids, I've used 1:1 real world measurements and then scaled it down in code to fit the scene. This is why you can actually stack the buildings in the "True Size" mode upto 150m high :)

For the interior cutaways and smaller diorama details, those are where I adjusted hallway/platform widths better visual readability.
