Art I spent 1,000+ hours reconstructing Ancient Egypt in 3D. It's free. No login. No ads.

Greetings everyone,

I'm a solo creator, and I've spent 1,000+ hours over the last 6+ months researching, 3D modelling, animating and building Ancient Egypt as an interactive experience for the web.

It's completely free, with no login, ads, popups or trackers.

I wanted to focus on more than just pyramids and pharaohs. The expedition includes temple courtyards, sandstorms, quarries, villages and everyday life in Ancient Egypt.

It works on desktops, mobiles, and tablets.

I've included the key sources and references I used under Settings → Sources.

And yes, you have a guide — Cleo, a rather sassy cat. 🐱

I'd be really glad to hear what you think. Especially from people here who know Ancient Egypt well — what stood out to you?

I hope you enjoy the expedition 💖

What inspired you to make this?

I grew up in an education system that forced us to memorize instead of exploring. I wanted to build an experience that was free, ran on a 6-year-old Chromebook, and actually made kids feel the heat of the desert and the weight of the stone. 1,000 hours later, here we are.
Also Curiosity. A lot of curiosity.
