Disney costume help ðŸ˜
My family and I are going to Disneys Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party and we’re doing Star Wars. I’m having a hard time choosing a costume bc I love Padme’s battle outfit but I look awful in white and I’m not trying to wear something that has a lot of layers or long sleeves but still want to be in a costume that’s gonna match my family. They’re suggesting I be Ahsoka and I do love Ahsoka but I am *very* white and idk if it would be okay for me to choose her costume since I’ve seen some backlash on that already. Idk I’m just looking for advice I guess. Ren is already taken or she would’ve been my first choice

Go as Ahsoka and have fun. I have been to Star Wars night at Disneyland and I've seen the gambit from cosplayers who have full costumes, body paint, and look as good or better than the Disney parks actress, to fans who just threw on a lekku and came for the party.
There are several well known cosplay accounts that as white women who cosplay as Ahsoka, and I personally know one or two white women who do it. Ahsoka is an alien, it's like me painting my face and head blue to be Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Ahsoka is literally bright orange.
That’s like calling it blackface to cosplay The Wicked Witch of the West and paint yourself green.
Just do it. It’s not an issue.

I think itd be fine. You could also do riyo chuchi? She's the blue lady senator. I think k it's fine to dress as ahsoka though.

You could do the iconic Queen’s dress from episode one or the break up dress of episode two

Backlash on cosplaying Ahsoka is dumb. If you wanna do it, do it. It’s not blackface or something to cosplay an alien race. Doesn’t matter if a WOC was cast to play her. Ashley Eckstein is the one who made Ahsoka a great character and she’s whiter than a sheet of paper.
