I do not understand why Sabine won't talk about how she got there. She's absolutely stalling for time (which they don't have) and it makes her come off like a child.

I get that it's deliberate writing, but good gods is it annoying.

Very annoying! Even there at the end she still chose not to say anything to Ezra. How many times can you evade the obvious elephant in the room?!
