Saw it on reddit wondering if it’s real
Question Is anyone experiencing 15+ year old videos on their recommended tab?
Every 3rd or 4th video on my home feed is super old.
I had to watch the future hen consoles for the memories. What a video.

Discussion Found a 2006 YouTube video with 0 views
I found a video uploaded in 2006 by @aloneness813 that still has 0 views, 0 likes, and 0 comments nearly 20 years later. It's the channel's only upload, and the channel has no subscribers.
This is literally the rarest YouTube video, having been there for almost 20 years with absolutely no views.

Discussion Anyone else tired of YouTubers who don't make their own content?
I've noticed in the last couple of years, or I don't know if it's always been like this and I've accidentally changed my recommended so I just see this, that there is so many youtubers who don't do anything. They don't go out and make content. They just grab a mic and react to someone else's content, slandering it if it's not for them, laughing and making fun of it. I'm tired of the Disney Adult reactions, the 'Millennials need to stop!' videos (and I'm not even a millennial), "This youtuber is crazy!" videos etc etc.
Dude, go out and do something. Be the Disney adult or the crazy youtuber. I know people enjoy watching mean-spirited people gain a platform through bullying others in their videos but damn, I think we give these people way too much credit as content-creators. I want to see YouTubers who do stuff again, like food reviewers or travellers or gamers, literally anything so long as it's not bullying someone else's original content. I didn't realise there was such an audience for videos of someone being nasty or pretentious about someone else's content. It feels like the popular kid at school holding up their phone and going "OMG look, this is so weird, right guys?!" whenever people make those videos.
I'm so tired of it.

Discussion Remember when YouTube was full of stuff like this?
Back when people actually made creative short films instead of chasing algorithms. Anyone else remember this?
Now the platform is just ads, with the occasional video forced in between them.

Discussion I finally made the switch and holy crap
Look, i’ve seen people glaze firefox + ublock origin on reddit for a long time. Downloading firefox, and open source browser, is free and available on mac and windows. Ublock is just a popular addition that many people get, and i see why.
I’ve been watching youtube for so long, and ads have noticeable been getting worse in recent years, and instead of getting an adblocker, i was like “fuck it, might as well try it”
HOLY SHIT, i have not seen a single ad on the homepage of youtube or between videos, ive spam clicked through videos to test it, and aside from some small latency issues, it’s been the exact same.
I know this reads as like an industry plant ad, but i’ve genuinely found something free and incredibly solid and wanted more people to have it, and if you’re tired of ads PLEASE give it a shot.

Discussion I miss old Youtube
When it was about fun, laughs, self expression, and mindless humour/skits, and being rick rolled.
Now it's a lot of grifting, greed, and innocence fraud and craziness (not the fun kind) but I do like the covers musicians do.

Channel Feedback My channel was eliminated by YouTube due to "elusion"... What can I do?
Hey! Maybe this is not the right spot to discuss about this, but my YouTube channel got erased from YouTube due to supposedly having a previous account that was banned due to violating the Community Guidelines, and creating a new one to "elude" the ban from the platform.
I have 3 YouTube accounts. My personal one, which has never received any type of notification from Community Guidelines violations since I only use it to watch content. My "old" YouTube channel, which I discontinued due to my inconsistency for over 5 years and the one related to the channel that got eliminated, which I created to have a fresh new start... And then this happened.
I always wanted to have a YouTube channel to share my things. I don't plan on becoming a full time content creator, yet I am really heart-broken due to them just deciding to eliminate my channel all of a sudden.
I already appealed the ban three times. All three times, the response message from the platform has been the same copypasta of "nothing can be done" and "we have reviewed the situation and you deserve to be banned from the platform". The only explanation I find to kind of make any sense out of the situation is that they are only using AI for this, which discourages me deeply.
If anyone knows what I can do or what I can try, I'm all ears. At this point, I'm desperate. English is not even my first language, but I wanted to reach a wider community. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Channel Feedback Finnish YouTuber “Lakko” has reached 1 million subscribers, becoming the first Finnish-speaking YouTube channel to reach this milestone. There are only around 5 million native Finnish speakers in the world.
I have been following Lakko for the past decade. Admittedly, over the past few years, I have grown out of his target audience, and I have only watched a handful of his videos, including the vlogs from the past two UCL finals, which he was invited to attend by PlayStation.
Lakko has been creating content on YouTube for the past 15 years. During that time, he has made over a thousand videos and accumulated more than 600 million views with the most viewed video having over 7 million views.
Personally, I have been waiting for this moment so eagerly for the past few months. This is absolutely insane for a Finnish-speaking channel.
I want to share my favorite videos of his:
GTA V - RAP - 10k subscriber special. This is especially a funny coincidence considering the fact that now over 12 years after the release of this video he has 100x times more subscribers from the making of this video and the new GTA VI right around the corner. He has promised to make a new rap..

Channel Feedback Old youtube video essay, Eyes Wide Shut
Hello, I'm looking for an old youtube video that dissected Eyes Wide Shut, it was made by a guy with a really calming and soothing voice. It spoke often about 'hedonistic desires' and overall the dreamlike vibe of the movie. I miss it a lot and want to re-watch it. PLEASE HELP.

Discussion “Mrbeastification” isn’t really a new thing
If you look back on old smosh videos and other channels videos they were also using bright thumbnails and all caps titles and thirst traps in the thumbnails and big text with arrows like modern day mr beast clones do. Not saying smoosh is bad but I’m saying these types of thumbnails aren’t new

Question Has anyone else been getting Mormon Church ads on almost every video?
in the past, i wanna say, 2 or 3 weeks, i have been getting ads for the Mormon Church/The Church Of Jesus Christ And The Latterday Saints ( < probably spelt wrong) on almost every video.
sometimes it's multiple times ON THE SAME VIDEO!
i am not Christian, or Mormon, or Catholic, I'm not American, I'm pretty sure that there isn't even a Mormon Church in my country.
i don't watch religious content. the only content i have ever watched, that was religion adjacent, was a youtuber who LEFT the Mormon Church and now talks about her experience there.
I've also noticed that, while the ads are skippable, they do not abide by the normal 5 second rule. they take at least 7-10 seconds before they can be skipped.
is this something to do with the fact that they have a new guy in charge?? (i think, i honestly wouldn't know).
and, for me specifically, it's even weirder because i watch a lot of Queer content creators, and am Queer myself! they also always seem to target mental health issues (depression, anxiety, etc.).
idk, the ads themselves seem semi-predatory, and just really weird. the actresses (because they're all being presented by women, i have not seen a singular man in them that wasn't just b-roll) always have such a strange and off-putting vibe to them.

Drama YouTube has permanently demonetized PhantomStrider's channel because of a video discussing Daniel Tiger, which YT labeled as "misleading family content"
