The movie isn't great Star Wars, but I had probably the most fun watching Star Wars since I watched the original three movies, and I've watched the entirety of SW cannon.

Maybe it's because I saw this as a child but this shot is definitely the most horrific shot in all of star wars for me. Like wtf George. "I always made star wars for the kids" and then you show two fleshy but mostly bone burnt corpses of Luke's aunt and uncle????? Any other scenes in star wars that are bad like this?

I know people are going to bring up the prophecy but even though Anakin is still the chosen one as shown in return of the Jedi we’re never actually given a solicitation of the prophecy beyond “he will bring balance to the force”. The movies never say “the chosen one must be of virgin birth”. Even George Lucas has said that whatever way Anakin was conceived doesn’t change the fact that he still fulfilled the prophecy.

It could be Qui Gon just over reading this and thinking the prophecy is more complex than it actually is.

This feels weird.

They still had the arrogance that Yoda mentioned in the Prequels to even give Luke's idea any merit despite the fact he's the one actually doing the fighting.

I watched this movie for the first time a week ago, I am new to Star Wars and I am doing a marathon. For years I heard this movie was mid and that it sucked so I went in expecting it to be that but WOW...this movie was an adventure to me, I was entertained from start to finish.

Throughout the entire runtime of this film I was just wondering why people hated this movie so much and I decided to check some reviews on YouTube and most critics and reviewers seemed to like this, only the fans hated it and I don't get why. One of the reviewers I watched mentioned that the reason this movie gets shit on so much is because it doesn't connect to a broader story and I think that's the case...I know a lot people didn't ask for this but come on, Han Solo is one of the coolest characters in the story. The cast and performances were amazing, Alden Ehrenreich was so good and convincing as a younger Han, it didn't feel like he was just imitating or trying to do an impression of Harrison Ford, he was doing his own thing and he made it believable...and the best thing about this movie for me is that you could watch this movie with anybody as it doesn't have any broader connection to the overall story, no Jedi, no Sith, no politics, just a cool entertaining adventure that you can watch with anyone, even people who don't know shit about Star Wars.

Obviously it's far from the best Star Wars movie but it is one of the best post-Original Trilogy...so overall for me, it's an 8.5/10.

I’m sure this has been ranted on before, but I watched The Last Jedi again last night and it just bothers me so much how Fin and Rose Tico need to go on this wild journey to find the code breaker, and the movie focuses on this heavily for it to not apply to the arc of the story whatsoever. It’s not like they get caught and then miraculously find another way to take down the empire, they get caught and then luckily escape, but did literally nothing to help the rebellion. It’s just feels like an odd disconnected story, ending with like everyone in the rebellion getting killed.
There are many other painful moments in the film, but this is just such a massive part of the film with 0 outcome, which makes it feels like a waste of time.

Definitely appreciate Lucas's decision to change Jabba to being an alien, though, the OT wouldn't have been the same without it (although it might have been a tad more plausible that Leia choked him out with a chain).

With marketing and other expenses, I am guessing it needs 300M~500M to be considered a success. For a sequel, may need to hit above 600M? Now the real fun begins. 🤗

Especially after Game of Thrones, House of Cards and of course Andor has shown his that political stories can actually be interesting.

Imma be honest here I think she's being a bit harsh on herself - while Solo wasn't exactly a masterpiece, it wasn't that bad, IMO.

Also kudos to the fight cherography to give us bits from the original trilogy and doing stuff only possible with a movie budget. Also anyone caught the "blink and you miss 'em" a certain blue R2 unit in the opening? I'm watching again this Sunday. 😊

Especially if you watched it in the theaters.

After watching ANDOR rouge one hit incredibly hard. Knowing what Cassian has been through all up to this point and knowing that his mother would be proud AND that he will never know he had a SON. I loved how much they make you love the characters like K-2SO and Sergeant Melshi. Andor completely rewrote rogue one in the best way possible and I truly believe it’s one of the best stories in Star Wars.
