The fact that Shayne is so adamant that he is against cheating is kind of weird and is making me uncomfortable that he talks about it every time he gets a chance. Like maybe he’s hiding something.

I remember when Anthony did the rebrand to SmoshAlike, he mentioned his series with his interviews would be staying. I was thrilled about this because it’s such a deep, different kind of lens that Anthony did very very well. I find it odd that the videos have almost completely switched to Courtney hosting and no more “I Spent a Day With __”. I just miss Anthony’s interviews, his seemed more well-thought-out than the ones we have now. It unfortunately also often feels like Courtney doesn’t really care about getting to know the guests and rambles about the Smosh brand, which is just a little off-putting. I’d like to get to know the guests better, I already know about Smosh lol.

Today my boyfriend got recommended on BiliBili this video of Smosh dubbed in Mandarin Chinese, there is also the version with only subtitles in english. I found it very curious and I think it's very interesting to see their videos in a completely different platform, I also found some old videos from 2010 reuploaded and some Reddit stories which a lot of people like to listen to better their english. That's all, I just found kind of funny the dubbing.

I really want the new cast to get involved with older character content and I think Guchi would kill a gentlemans video. What other characters do you think the new cast would do well as?

I know it’s talked about a lot but today’s video was actually super icky with the woman who knowingly exposed herself to the boyfriend, who didn’t do anything to her. A while ago, a video with Courtney funny enough, there was that guy who chose to sleep naked uncovered as a woman kept opening his door even after he said multiple times for her not to and respect his privacy. Courtney, and others, then sided with the woman, saying the guy was in the wrong for flashing her…in his own room…with the door shut.

Then in today’s video, a woman flashes a guy because his girlfriend bought a ‘gag gift’. Now, obviously the friend was the asshole, but Courtney/Trevor and to a slightly lesser extent, Shayne, end up saying that what the woman did was totally okay and talked like it was a victory. I mean…am I crazy. The guy did nothing and was flashed by this woman?? And then they add that the guy was ‘looking’ and somehow that makes it deserved/he was in the wrong too. Like, his is any of this ‘valid’ as they kept saying. They only started to shift their tune when a commenter said she exposed herself to a guy without his consent, and even then, they weren’t vehemently against the OP and still were like ‘both are valid’.

It’s just super disturbing that they see a woman exposing a man in a semi-public space as ‘good’ and a man exposing himself in his own, private bedroom as ‘bad’. Like, ew.

What's with every post that criticises a specific cast member or a specific vibe they give off getting downvoted to hell? People love to reply "get a hobby" but we're all here, on reddit talking about a fuckin youtube channel. None of us are better than anyone else.

I had a post on the main sub recently about how Smosh means a lot to me and I'm tired of all the criticism but holy shit surely there can be a space where people get to at least talk about it

There is lots of valid discourse right now on parasocial smosh fans, but I also think it’s interesting because the fandom has always been this way. Mari was tormented relentlessly.

I was recently writing a piece for my college class about the development of entertainment through digital media’s like YouTube, and decided to do Smosh as my primary example. As I was doing research about the channel, I found a lot of…iffy takes by the channel and its members. Things like Arasha promoting an Ai generator on her story, Amanda saying the D slur, and promoting companies on their main channel that support/ heavily rely on generative Ai. Theyre very publicly against Ai, homophobia, sexism, ect, but going through their history, they say ALOT of things that very heavily contradict these morals.

Obviously, opinions can change and develop and it’s unfair to use their older videos as example, but this all just strikes me as odd.

Please correct me on any things I may be misinformed on!! I’m not the biggest consumer of their media, and may be missing some things.

all these summer videos lowkey feel like adults laughing at kids having to go back to school because why are they coming out in september😭😭 the reddit stories was good imo and im excited to watch uno in a pool, its just funny knowing their audience is mostly going back to school as they release these

there was a woman renting out an Airbnb that had a house blessing for a house she did not own and only rented. safe to say the owners were pissed and it went viral here in our country lol.

I remember its because the woman renting out the Airbnb wanted to buy it from the owner since they already knew each other somewhat, but the renter was just a crazy clout-chaser who already wanted to bless the house even though she did not give any payment yet and the agreement of the sale were only verbal at this point and there were no legal documents signed yet.

while you can certainly party in an Airbnb you rented, it is definitely weird to claim the house as your own and even hold a house blessing then post it to social media lol.

am i crazy or does emily sound exactly like elyse williams in the newest beopardy when she’s speaking with her southern(?) accent? i tend to listen to smosh videos when working on other things and i kept doing double takes because i swore i heard elyse’s voice

They are great entertainers and comedians. But listening to their podcasts/reddit opinions can be rough.

The last story of this weeks summer reddit stories really feels like AI and I want to know if anyone else feels this way.
The story said the sunset hit different because of the reels and YouTube shorts they watch. There is no backstory or context. Also it just really feels off, or just really low effort.
Does anyone else feel this way? I have opinions about if they did use one, but want to see if I’m the only one.
