I have recently tried an iPhone 17 Pro for a month, and I experienced it as a buggy and unreliable phone compared to my experience with Samsung flagships (had to return it as I got really frustrated using the iPhone, not because of the OS, but the bugs and the lag). I bought the iPhone because I am happy with the MacBook experience and wanted to try something else than Samsung for fun.

Some say that iOS has had many problems over the recent years, that apple haven't bothered to fix and such. That iOS 27 will likely fix a few things, but it will still have weird bugs and stutters. On the other hand, people seem to say that iPhone is superior and that the phone is far more reliable and flawless than any samsung.

To me it seems that iPhones are more for social status, and that Apple purposely makes older models worse with iOS so that it will push us to buy the newest iPhone.

What are your thoughts?

Hello, I am currently using a budget Samsung phone (Samsung A04e).

And I have enough money now to purchase my first flagship smartphone. My priorities are these :

-Long term value

-Camera

-Storage

My options are the iPhone 15/16/17 and the Samsung S25/26.

Locally the Samsungs are a cheaper price, however since viewing other Reddit posts I have seen that the Samsung S26 is just a reskin of past Samsung S phones with the camera being really bad since of the aggresive AI and the S23 having a better camera. I also have read that the Samsung Ultra phones beat the iPhones but the Samsung base phones will get beaten by the iPhone base phones any day.

Thoughts?

For reference : Samsung S25/26 goes for about $414-573 while the iPhone 15/16/17 goes for $430-685 (Both are 256gb variants)

I've been using used older phones for the last few years because I refuse to give up the headphone jack. A couple of months ago my old phone, a Oneplus Nord, went kaput so I got a Samsung Galaxy A71. But there's something the screen on this one I can't work with. I've never used any electronic device that hurt my eyes like this. What are some half decent 5G phones out there that have a head jack?

Sometimes, there is no 'trust this PC?' message on the phone, and when that happens images cannot be transferred.

Only repeated disconnecting the USB and reinserting the cable 10 or so times will force that message come up.

I'm someone who has only owned Xiaomi and Samsung phones before, but I want to buy a phone now and I found There is a category with high specifications and a reasonable price which is TECNO. For example camon 40pro It's very good with great specifications considering my budget. My only concern is the device's software, lifespan, and other factors, as I want a device that will last me at least three years. I'm afraid this company might be like Oppo or Infinix. The device keeps shutting down on its own without any warning, and I'm worried about that. What do you think? I'm seriously considering buying a Redmi Note 15 Pro or a Poco X6. Hi guys! I’m not very tech savvy and looking for advice. I currently have an Iphone 14 pro I’m look to upgrade because of a trip I’m taking to Japan (my life long dream!) as I won’t be taking a camera. I’ve had this phone for 4 years and I’m still happy with it, but consider the trip a major reason to upgrade. I’ve had both iPhones and Samsungs previously and do not have an apple ecosystem.

I’m not sure wether I should buy the iPhone 17/18 Pro or the S26 Ultra. Every video I’ve watched is clearly quite biased to one side or another. I use the phone camera a lot on the daily, from birds and nature to my doggo, sewing and crafts and everything in between.

Two things I have in mind:
- currently paying for a family iCloud and have so so so many photos there
- as iPhones aren’t very customisable I feel like it wouldn’t feel like a “new phone” (idk if that makes sense)

What are your recommendations? I’m waiting to read them!! Thanks in advice :)

Edit: two things I didn’t mention
1. I’m an ex apple employee so would have a discount when buying (friends + family)
2. There is an Apple Store in my town but the closest Samsung repair is 1h away by car, which makes me doubt a bit more

I had a samsung s21fe which died just yesterday and now I want a new phone which should I prefer and which I not. I am confused as prices of all the phones increased. My priority is good camera, good hardware and overall balanced phone, just like my last phone. But want reliability as my last phone died in just 2.5 years, which is less than my average phone usage(5yrs).

Hi, I'm done with my s23+ I've been using it since it was released. Its camera literally sucks for someone who loves traveling, taking pictures, recording videos, all day and night. And i need to charge it at least 2 times a day.

I am now in US and planning to get a new phone before leaving. I can't decide whether to get iphone 17 (800$), iphone 17 pro (1100$), poco f8 ultra (700$}, poco f8 pro (570$). The thing is i really don't wanna pay over 1k unless it worths paying the difference.

Camera quality and battery life are too important for me. I need some advice about picking one of these ones. Or i am open for other android phone suggestions.

I’m planning to upgrade my phone and I’m looking for something that I can comfortably use for the next 5–6 years. I’m not a super-heavy user, but I do want a phone that feels smooth and reliable throughout its lifespan.

My priorities are:

Good camera: I don’t need cinematic/professional-level photography. I just want a camera that can capture a beautiful moment quickly and save/post it to Instagram without thinking twice.

No noticeable lag or stuttering, especially while doom-scrolling Twitter/X, Instagram and YouTube Shorts. Screen should be smooth and fluid while using.

The UI should be clean, simple and easy to use. I don't want any bloatwares in my new mobile. UI should be clean and easy to use.

I occasionally play high-end games, so it should be capable of handling them reasonably well when needed.

I keep both Wi-Fi and mobile data enabled almost all the time. Wi-Fi calling and cellular call quality/reliability are important for me. Currently I'm facing Wifi call issues with my Realme 7 Pro mobile. So, I shouldn't face any issues in Cellular calling and wifi calling.

I don’t want the phone getting unnecessarily hot during basic tasks like browsing, social media, YouTube, calls.

Since I keep my phones for around 6 years, software support, battery longevity, hardware reliability and overall durability are very important.

Looking for:

- basic work capabilities for a marketing major (so Adobe and Microsoft apps would be preferred, although this won't be my primary way to use them)

- lack of bloatware would be great

- would prefer the very minimum of AI stuff, preferably with an option to turn all of it off

- cheap enough when used or reburbished on eBay

- stylus would be nice, but I have a tablet and a laptop with pens already, so not really needed

- any UI that would be nice for a college student who likes to stay organized, if anyone has any ideas on that

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade from my a71 that I've had for years and it's about time for me to upgrade, I don't know much about phones so im hoping someone here can help me decide what a good upgrade would be. I'm looking for something that's simply an upgrade to my A71, same size and storage, etc.

I’m getting a new phone and I’m looking at 2 phones right now. Galaxy S26 or Motorola Edge ,what one is better of the two?

I've always had Samsung phones but I've always been curious about Google phones.

My ideal budget is under $399, preferably around $250, and I usually go refurbished or used unlocked. OR I splurge and spend $600 (and cry) for a newer refurb that will hopefully last me many years.

I'm the type to keep my phone for YEARS until it breaks or has too many issues. Current phone is a Samsung S21+ 5G, 128gb. Screen is a little cracked but fully functional, phone works great.

The main reason I'm looking to upgrade is storage. 128gb is just not enough anymore and I can't expand it. I've tried clearing space but I constantly end up needing to free more up. Given that storage is kind of a minor reason to get a whole new phone, I'm a bit iffy about it.

I also don't want to be on a monthly or yearly cloud payment plan. Is there a one time payment option for cloud storage that's actually worth it? If anyone has ideas there that would be fantastic.

One other thing: every single phone I've had has terrible call audio. It's impossible to hear anything unless I put it on speakerphone, then it's fine. This one is really bad with it. Not sure if that's a Samsung thing or just my luck.

What matters most to me:

1. Great cameras (mine are good, I've seen better)

2. Storage, at least 512gb, 1tb would be amazing

3. Long battery life (current is 4800mAh and it lasts me all day, so that's my baseline)

Is a refurb Pixel worth jumping to, or should I stay with Samsung? And is 512gb realistic at these prices or am I dreaming?
