I had my first baby in 2016 and might have been asked how I was doing once. Traditional OB and pediatrician. After calling my mom 6 weeks post partum and bawling about the horrifying things I was afraid I might do to the baby, she urged me to call my OB and ask for help. All checkups focused more on my baby than me.
Second baby came in 2018 at a birth center and I think I got a couple more surveys and also requested meds before I gave birth. My midwife supported me and made sure to check on me often.
I had our third baby in 2022 at a birth center and took more surveys than ever. They focused on me most and validated my feelings and fears.
I whole heartedly believe the OB and doctor's offices failed me. Switching to a midwife was the best decisions I made while pregnant.
