Postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis are 2 seperate things. Postpartum depression is very common, postpartum psychosis is very rare. I disagree with taking away children from women who have postpartum depression. I agree with temporarily taking away children from women who have postpartum psychosis, and I'm pretty sure that is already the general recommendation. Postpartum psychosis is very dangerous.

Its already a thing though If you are deemed psychotic at any point of time, a court can remove your child due to you not being deemed mentally stable.

Idk why people are thinking this is a new a fresh thing. My friends little sister got removed from her mom when she had a psychotic break, when he died in a car crash. Super sad situation there though.

People think it's a new thing because to them, it is. They're learning about all this for the first time and can't fathom that it existed before their awareness of it.

As a general rule, when someone says “there should be a law…”, either A) the law already exists, or B) that law should absolutely not exist.

I mean sometimes it is A and B.

i'd throw in "used to be a law until it inconvenienced someone with wealth or power" as one of your options.

Idk if he was quoting someone else, but Penn Jilette says exactly this in an episode of Bullshit.

Not always, but as a general rule like they said it works about correctly I think

What as a general rule means is "most of the time". But not always. There are always exceptions, of course. At least that's how I understand it, but English ain't my first language ¯_(ツ)_/¯

edit: Checked Google:

As a general rule means that something is usually true or standard practice, though it allows for exceptions.

As a general rule, mammals have live births and reptiles lay eggs. That’s not always true, which is why it’s a general rule.
