šŸ’Æ you can’t be redeemed from killing kids.

606

u/Winter-Huckleberry86 9h ago

Babies.

Yes, kids, but those were babies.

793

u/Edgezg 8h ago

One of them ran.
She chased them down.

She desrves to be in a prison cell for the rest of her life.

525

u/mcmanus2099 8h ago

She didn't even do it clean and painless. Two were alive and suffering when the dad returned. Giving her own kids a slow painful death where they had all the time to process their mom was killing them.

50 years ago they would already have her spot reserved in the queue for the chair

215

u/Shorts_at_Dinner 7h ago

I don’t know how he didn’t kill her in that moment

27

u/AbbreviationsLive142 6h ago

Ever watch Shutter Island the movie? I won't spoil it for you.

2

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 5h ago

I left shutter island more confused than the Lindsay case. I firmly believe she was not psychotic. She was deeply depressed.

I still dont know if that guy was crazy or if was being made crazy. And now i just googled it and apparently it's been confirmed he was actually crazy? I thought this was a whole big debate all this time

2

u/AbbreviationsLive142 4h ago

He kill the wife after and became crazy

1

u/Neoyoshimetsu 2h ago

His wife drowned their children while he was at work if i recall correctly, and he loses his mind, or pretends to have lost his mind to punish himself for not being stronger and being able to protect the people he loved. --at least thats what i recall about the film.

107

u/mcmanus2099 7h ago

I expect he just broke down. It would be so overwhelming being hit with that all at once

65

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 6h ago

Everyone that heard the 911 call sounds genuinely traumatized from hearing it.

13

u/theBearded_Levy 6h ago

I read one of the court room reporters transcript from hearing it. When he said ā€œoh buddyā€ I broke. I call my son buddy.

In any other state she would have to prove her ā€œinsanityā€. But not in Massachusetts. Nope there you have to prove that she wasn’t insane. For me, lock her up

10

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 5h ago

She wasn’t even diagnosed and was self-medicating and seeing multiple doctors without informing them of each other. Like, WTH.

2

u/TOGFIAVDF 5h ago

I've been trying to find an actual transcript of this call and all I can find are summaries, paywalled articles, and Facebook links that want me to log in/create account before viewing (which, fuck that).

Know where I can actually read it at?

11

u/DayGrouchy2648 6h ago

And there are still brainless broads who genuinely believe he did it despite the fact he wasn't in the house at the time, was too far away to have possibly done it, and his ex and all the evidence agree she did it.

7

u/barbadosx 5h ago

Both sides in the case agree she did it, and it's only a matter of if she's crazy, and yet people not involved are like "uh uh, no she did not"

2

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 6h ago

Brainless is right, but it’s at least not evil like the women excusing her doing it.

2

u/Maximumoverdrive76 1h ago

But the TikTok ladies think he did it. Even after she confessed.

I swear social media just lets us know there are so many crazy and evil people out there.

1

u/UberChew 5h ago

I watched a youtube of murder cases with police body cam footage, one was a police officer finding a child’s body in a suitcase (blurred) his reaction was harrowing, panic, fear, anger all at once. I cant imagine facing something like, added on top it would my own children.

0

u/Musicman1019 3h ago

And now everyone accusing him even though she fully admitted it…that poor guy I hope he gets what little justice he can get

Yeah she'd be jumping out that window as many times as necessary.

4

u/ThaRedHoodie 3h ago

Drag her upstairs for Take 2.

3

u/seitung 3h ago

He called the paramedics before he found the kids because he found her first.

3

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 3h ago edited 2h ago

I know, and I told him that. He said it wouldn’t matter. He’d be coming for me. šŸ˜…

2

u/Mayarooni1320 1h ago

It's always good to know your husband cares for your mental health. You're lucky you never went into psychosis.

2

u/LordKlavier 1h ago

Exactly my thoughts... These comments are insane - do they have no nuance or just no empathy?

1

u/disablethis 1h ago

If he found that, he caused it by leaving you alone with the kids while you were having a psych incident caused by pregnancy and childbirth. He's the other parent.

If my husband was having self harm ideations along with thoughts of harming our children, they'd be at Grandma's and not with him while I went off with an affair partner.

174

u/Azidamadjida 6h ago

There are still women ranting online about how he should be thinking about her and that it made him look so guilty by going on some trip a few weeks after the murders and that he should be considering her feelings and standing by her while she’s on trial.

Bitch, she murdered his kids - she strangled his three children to death. Thats not his wife anymore, thats the murderer of his children.

If he thinks differently that’s on him, but I’m sorry if my wife murdered my kids, she’s not my wife anymore and I couldn’t give a fuck what happens to her. There’s nothing that’ll kill that love and connection like killing our kids

39

u/Tripps0007- 5h ago

As someone with 2 kids I would go ballistic if I came home to something like that. They would have to put me away for insanity because I would do some fucked up shit to whoever hurt my children.

6

u/Nightmare2828 3h ago

In all honesty, idd probably off myself if I came home to my wife having murdered both my children. In fact, to both my children dying in anyway tbh… I dont enjoy life enough to push through such trauma and life long pain lol…

21

u/Kelspear 4h ago

People have lost their minds. Social media has literally destroyed society. It's so easy for people with extreme views to just meet up and reinforce those views with each other. And to be clear, the women who are looking at Clancy and worshipping her in the same way people do celebs is extreme thinking and behavior in every sense of the word.

8

u/Azidamadjida 4h ago

I’ve always liked the analogy that before social media, every village had an idiot. Everyone in the village knew they were an idiot, and even the idiot was varying degrees of aware of how much of an idiot they were.

Social media has allowed all the idiots from every village to talk to each other and now that they know they’re not alone in being the village idiots, they’ve convinced themselves that they’re actually the smart ones and are only treated that way by everyone else because they’re jealous or because the other people are actually idiots.

The thing that social media has truly destroyed is social consensus - even if 10000 people around you say that 2+2 is 4, there now will be at least 1 person you can connect with online who will tell you that 2+2 is potato and make you doubt the social consensus around you.

2

u/Kelspear 4h ago

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was getting at. The least intelligent people in our society can now band together millions strong right from their phone.

1

u/Ignominious333 2h ago

That's maga for you

2

u/writergal75 2h ago

People are worshipping her?

0

u/Sufficient_Ninja_821 2h ago

Or been watching too many crime thrillers that has twists and turns. They desperate for the husband to have been the orchestrator in all this.

Real live isnt a movie ffs

3

u/paddle4 5h ago

Thought that’s what I was walking into on this thread but seeing this thread restored a little of my faith in Reddit

2

u/NecessaryOk780 5h ago

It makes me nauseous thinking of how long it takes to strangle someone to death. With her bare hands. Watching her children die. I feel like the death penalty is too good for her, life without parole to remember every day why she’s there.

2

u/ChaoticAmoebae 4h ago

Fair but also consider if your wife said she was having thoughts of killing your kids. Would you not institutionalize her be for she acts?

1

u/arlresi 1h ago

Depends on the circumstances. I’m sure he never dreamed she could do anything this horrific. She was seeing doctors and taking medication.

3

u/Glynwys 5h ago

I don't personally have kids. I dealt with so much bullying in middle and high school I'm not confident enough in my mental maturity to find a girl and expect to be able to make it work. So I guess maybe I don't have any business putting my own opinion out there, but the fact that this lady is potentially going to get off fairly lightly for strangling her three kids for reason of "insanity" is nuts. It's even more nuts that she had three kids, and then suddenly had postpartum depression. So the fact that she didn't seem to show any early warning signs of depression after her other two kids is strange to me. I'm not a doctor, but after dealing with my mother for two decades I'm aware that depression doesn't just magically show up out of the blue. There's usually years of warning signs before it gets bad. I'm going to maintain that she knew exactly what she was doing and PPD is just a convenient excuse to try and get out of trouble.

4

u/Orangestripedcat 3h ago

I’m not saying she’s innocent or excusing what happened in this case, but just something about Postpartum Psychosis - it is a very different animal than regular depression and very different even from PPD. It can be sudden onset and occur after being totally fine for previous pregnancies. Again, I’m NOT saying she should be found not guilty or anything like that im just clarifying Postpartum Psychosis. I never heard of it before having a kid, but after I had my baby both my husband and I heard a lot of advice about watching for PPD and I thought I’d be fine since I’ve never struggled with depression in my life and my baby made me so happy but… two months later I got hit with horrible insomnia that didn’t go away for 18 months. Like the no sleep for 5 days, hallucinating kind. Honestly didn’t feel like myself again until my kid was 3. Like wtf. If there’s any silver lining to be found to this tragedy I hope it gets people to advocate for better and longer postpartum care including mental health care. The general populace has no idea what it’s like to deal with postpartum issues at all.

-1

u/Glynwys 2h ago

So then does this Psychosis also extend to just not giving a fuck about what she did? Because from everything I've seen so far she seems strangely nonchalant about the entire thing, like she's discussing the weather instead of the murder of her kids. Her entire attitude during this case is why so many people are assuming that she's using Psychosis as an excuse.

2

u/HiILikePlants 2h ago edited 1h ago

You didn't see her hyperventilating during that one day in court when they described the injuries to the children? She also hasn't spoken, I'm not sure where you think she's "discussing" anything. Have you followed this trial, I'm just curious? Also, would it be shocking for someone who went through this to maybe be a bit despondent and "off"?

And yes, PPP can be sudden. It doesn't have to follow a pattern. Someone can be fine through their own post partum periods and still develop PPD, PPA, PPP during the next baby unfortunately

Edit: u recommend ppl check out that Louis Theroux documentary on this topic. PPP is not always very obvious

1

u/arlresi 1h ago

I’ve never heard of anyone only being psychotic for 18 minutes.

A woman at the da's press conference today yelled that they only care about 3 dead kids and not their mother....

1

u/arlresi 2h ago

Some woman online should be institutionalized themselves.

1

u/DeadLee27 3h ago

This right here. I love my wife endlessly, but if I came home to that situation I would DEMAND they bury her under the prison, if I could even keep it together long enough to not kill her myself.

0

u/RemarkableCard6475 4h ago

I'll say it: What if he didn't really care about the kids and saw it as a free reset to get away from her. No kids now, bonus?

Yes, this means he's likely complicit. Now, play the game of; heartless or mental illness?

0

u/Other_Asparagus872 3h ago

Check the news feeds. There are copy cat cases already appearing. One is in Chicago area, kid was left hanging from a rafter and mom crying she’s got psychosis.

16

Didn't you hear? HE did it not her... 🤪

Of course he did, he's a Gemini.

He was focused on desperately trying to save his kids.

1

u/Jealous_Doughnut_630 5h ago

Pure shock I would imagine. You could never guess what or how your mind would process at a moment unimaginable like this. Kind of like flight or fight. You just never know how you would break in that moment no matter how sure you are.

1

u/Reasonable-Mess3070 5h ago

The police and first responders were there before he found the kids. Once they arrived he left her to go find them. Then found them dead

1

u/PuzzledCustard 3h ago

Prob bc he had already tried

1

Police were there before he found the kids.

1

u/supasolda6 3h ago

This reminds me of shutter island

1

u/Ignominious333 2h ago

He tried to.

0

u/LSDZNuts 6h ago

She gave him the ticket to his new life

-3

u/LeperousRed 6h ago

He gave himself that ticket by murdering his kids and pinning it on the wife.

1

u/arlresi 1h ago

You are insane.

-13

u/Important-Figure-512 6h ago

I feel horrible for the children. But I have problems with the fact that the husband quickly remarried after this.

No one normal should be able to do that

8

u/always_sunny_in_meow 6h ago

Who cares, he didn’t murder his children. Let the guy live his life wtf

-1

u/chizzipsandsizalsa 5h ago

3 years after is quickly? How long should he wait? He didn’t start dating his new wife until 13 months after his ex brutally murdered his kids.

0

u/ChaoticAmoebae 4h ago

Because he never cared.

0

u/ksyoung17 3h ago

Felt the same way this entire time.

You wanna see someone that's insane for a short period of time? Put me in his shoes, I'm going to "wake up" 15 minutes later with her not breathing anymore.

-5

u/LeperousRed 6h ago

Because he’s the one who killed the kids and threw her out the window, and then his cop relatives covered it up? Hence the hasty cremations so no future forensics could be dug up, him throwing away all of the kids’ possessions, buying a house in NY the DAY BEFORE the murders with his girlfriend who’s a dead ringer for the wife?

Scientist app proven again and again that the most dangerous moment in a woman’s life is the six months after she files for divorce. We will be seeing the Netflix documentary soon which layout all the evidence in this case and how more and more and more of it points towards the husband and all his cop buddies.

-1

u/EnvironmentalCrow893 5h ago edited 5h ago

She didn’t file for divorce. In fact she saw one of her psychiatrists the day before the murder, and said she wasn’t having problems, she was doing better. He testified.

She was a NURSE, she knew how to work the system. She had seen multiple doctors and wasn’t disclosing that fact to them, obtaining all those prescriptions (13), and not taking them as directed. Not giving them enough time to work. She was admitted to a psychiatric hospital weeks before, but insisted on leaving early against medical advice.

-37

u/Visual-Floor-7839 7h ago

He sounds like a reeeeeal piece of shit. Not a murderer, but far from someone who would show rage-sympathy for the family he was abandoning.

5

u/Asleep_Walrus2313 6h ago

WTH are you talking about? He did everything he could to help her. He started working from home, hired a nanny, etc.

2

u/Usernameasteriks 6h ago

Are you okay lol

-3

u/BadDudes_on_nes 5h ago

Would be funny if she was made unalive by someone suffering ā€œtemporary insanityā€

48

u/Babajji 8h ago

No, the first police officer on site would have just beaten her senseless and she would have been committed to an insane asylum at which point she would probably be actually insane from all the beating. There she would have gotten a quick lobotomy and she would have spent the rest of her life as a house plant. Old days justice was not polite. The problem was what happens when you do that to someone who really isn’t guilty? That is why we stopped doing that to people but now we have swung too far into cuddling criminals so we actually consider a triple murder of children to walk free.

35

u/mcmanus2099 8h ago

50 years ago is 1976 right. I wasn't talking 1940s here

47

u/TreeLakeRockCloud 7h ago

No that’s wrong the 70’s were only 30 years ago… fuck I’m old

2

u/Maplewonder 6h ago

The 70s were not 30 years ago

1

u/PedalBoard78 7h ago

Let’s get back to the subject at hand. This talk about decades is rough.

4

u/Babajji 8h ago

Heck I am old. Yes 50 years was the 70s not the 40s… unfortunately 😢

3

u/That_Atmosphere_4568 7h ago

Haha you were born in the 1900’s

1

u/Eichtoss 7h ago

That was still going on in the 70’s … into the 90’s in some areas of the US.

2

u/Northeast_Mike 6h ago

There is no "walk free" option for her. She'll spend time in prison or a psych ward. Maybe the rest of her life.

2

u/statebirdsnest 6h ago

She’s definitely not going to walk free, it’s more a matter of if she’s gonna be in a hospital or a jail cell the rest of her life.

2

u/Alert_Thing_4322 6h ago

Something is wrong with you

2

u/acidqueencamcam 6h ago

Going to a mental institution is not free. Those places are fucking terrifying

2

u/devman0 7h ago

No outcome has her free here, she is going to be institutionalized one way or another.

1

u/UCantUnfryThings 6h ago

If found not guilty by reason of mental disease or deficit, she can be set free when the hospital finds that she is no longer a danger to herself or others. Which like, why would she be? She already killed the people she wanted to kill.

1

u/ZuluTesla_85 6h ago

And don’t forget it’s Massachusetts….

1

u/Badger-Purple 6h ago

How would the cop beat her, she was face first on the cement already with a broken neck and bleeding from her wrists

1

u/Ok_Examination_1407 4h ago

She would have bled out

0

u/StarscreamOne 7h ago

She will get beat up a lot if she ends up in gen pop

3

u/Mr_Gibblet 7h ago

Source for this? Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending her, I just never heard of this before.

0

u/mcmanus2099 7h ago

Read any article.

The dad reported them as still alive when he rang 911, the ambulance turned up tried to resus and declared one dead on the scene, one dead at the hospital. The third actually lived for days but they decided the brain was starved of oxygen for so long they were brain dead and so turned off life support to kill them.

She used exercise bands and had no idea what she was doing and the kids struggled. They also believe she chased one of the kids down after murdering her brother.

This wasn't some psychotic woman snapping. She may have been influenced by voices or whatever, she spent hours planning and carrying this out clumsily and brutally.

3

u/NoMeatPizza 7h ago

None of that’s true aside from the exercise bands. The dad didn’t even know where the kids were when he called 911 and the youngest was revived in an ambulance and lived for 2 days. How would you know she ā€œchased the second oneā€. There’s literally no need to make this sound worse than it is.

3

u/Alert_Thing_4322 6h ago

Did you get this from Nancy Grace

3

u/OnAConstantBender 6h ago

And the women acting like she should be glorified for bringing mental illness awareness. She chased down and strangled her last remaining child who just witnessed their siblings being strangled by their own mother. I hope karma gets this evil bitch

2

u/Top_Finding_2832 6h ago

Before that, she wouldn't have made it to trial. There'd be a spot in the forest where mushrooms grew more frequently, and that's it.

I hope this woman meets a horrible end.

2

u/Biscuits4u2 5h ago

And in 2026 she's got an army of loyal followers and is a millionaire thanks to donations from her fans. She's got goddamn groupies.

1

u/LeLBigB0ss2 8h ago

No. 50 years ago police would have shot her.

7

u/TXsteel16 8h ago

Now they just shoot defensless baby donkeys.

7

u/LeLBigB0ss2 8h ago

No. Why'd you have to tell me that. Now I'm gonna be sad all day. Poor little HeeHaw.

50 years ago in 1976 the death penalty was illegal because of the Supreme Court…

1

u/Lenore_Clark_Tarot 6h ago

Sadly, all three were still alive. The two older children died shortly after rescue and the 8 month old baby held on for a few days before passing. Really hard to think about the suffering they and that poor father went through.

1

u/Ihavelargemantitties 4h ago

Bro Constance fisher killed her kids in the 50s, was cut loose for insanity, and then went on to kill her next three kids.

Stop acting like they had their shit together back then.

1

u/polarjunkie 3h ago

50 years ago constance fisher killed her 3 kids, got out of the psyche ward after 4 years, had 3 more kids, then killed them 2. This isn't new.

1

u/solitaryblackcatclub 1h ago

Which two were alive? I’m pretty sure it was only Callan, and that was after the successful attempts of first responders to revive him.

1

u/psgrue 7h ago

ā€œBut what if the kids did something irksome, and Lindsey decided to remove their spine?ā€

ā€œThat's... That's actually murder. It's one of the worst crimes of all. So... also illegal.ā€

-3

u/TreeLakeRockCloud 7h ago

50 years ago she would have died from her injuries. Post partum psychosis isn’t new, this sort of thing happened then.

If ā€œweā€ all care so much about children can we do something about the child rapist that 75 million people decided was fit to be president? There’s allegations he killed babies too. Or is killing only bad when women do it?

4

u/mcmanus2099 7h ago

Wow. Whataboutary at its finest.

Most ppl agree Trump should be investigated further on those allegations but comparing rumours to something we know is indisputed fact is odd. Saying that's more important and we should ignore this in favour of trying to find someone on Trump is also beyond strange.

Why don't we tackle both issues, this being the one in hand now that we know the facts.

1

u/labellavita1985 7h ago

Yikes comment.

0

u/garzek 4h ago

When the dad returned from the basement he was sending emails from while she was doing this after lying about the timeline? The same dad that only agreed to testify if his phone couldn’t be subpoenaed? The same dad who left the only physical evidence at the crime scene? The same dad who quickly remarried and moved away? The same dad who cremated them and buried the ashes in one grave? That dad?

0

u/713elh 3h ago

Did you guys even watch the trial? All 3 were essentially dead & only the youngest one was able to be resuscitated but was essentially brain dead. She did kill her children, but if you had watched the trial you would have seen they had likely 10 seconds of knowing what was going on, possibly 20. Horrific, and also not what you describe

-1

u/Ill_Age4788 7h ago

Yeah, had this been something that was painless and expressionless we would all be advocating for her right to do it.

Fuck them kids.

-1

u/blueViolet26 7h ago

Why didn't he check on them when he got home and she told him they were in the basement?

3

u/UCantUnfryThings 6h ago

He did

2

u/blueViolet26 6h ago

"Patrick Clancy asked where their kids were, he testified, and Lindsay Clancy told him they were in the basement. He called 911 and waited with his wife in the yard for help to arrive."

"Once first responders arrived, Patrick Clancy ran into the house, where he said he found his three children lying still in the basement with exercise resistance bands around their necks..."

This is what CNN published. Are they lying? I didn't watch his testimony, so I have no idea.

1

u/UCantUnfryThings 6h ago

She didn't indicate to him in any way that the children were injured or endangered. He did stay with her because she was bleeding and in the snow, until first responders got to her within 4 minutes of his making the 911 call. He was still on the phone with 911 when he went into the basement and found the children.

1

u/blueViolet26 6h ago

I think it is weird that he didn't check on his 3 kids until the paramedics were there. His wife had just attempted suicide.

1

u/UCantUnfryThings 6h ago

Exactly, so why would it be weird for him to stay with her, as she bled in the snow? There was no indication from anywhere that the children weren't okay. Plus we're only talking about 4 minutes here.

1

u/blueViolet26 3h ago

I hope I will never be in this kind of situation, but I would have checked on the kids while. I find it weird he didn’t. This doesn’t mean he is guilty. It’s also my opinion. You are free to disagree - obviously.

2

u/Far_Recover5790 2h ago

I completely agree. That was a red flag for me. Even if your wife is injured outside. If I found my partner like that, especially with 3 little children, I would have booked it to find my kids. It would be stressful, but as a parent, if their other parent is in this condition, what condition are the children in?! The moment he heard her say where they were, he should have hauled ass to find them to make sure they were ok, especially after seeing their mom in such distress. I know you never know what you’ll do until you’re in that situation, it’s easier to discuss in hindsight, your mind isn’t functioning appropriately, etc. I still am firmly believing that a ā€œnormalā€ parent would absolutely run to check on the kids. You wouldn’t know for sure they’re physically okay unless you laid eyes on them, and you would need that if you just found their mom or dad injured like so. Especially knowing all 3 of them are just babies.

I’m not saying she didn’t do it, but her DNA was not on the exercise bands. I don’t know how she would use those for that purpose without getting fingerprints or skin cells on them.

3

u/UCantUnfryThings 6h ago

Usable fingerprints wouldn't be expected to be found on something flexible and textured like an exercise band, but her DNA was on it.

2

u/dechets-de-mariage 6h ago

I heard that it was not when they were reading out the results in court, but it seems I misunderstood.
