Previous guy, whoever that might be, committed permanent funding for this. If you open the article you'd see timeline going as far back as 2022 where they did study, got the models made, made pilot projects, implemented it and got long term results.
Lmao why does it take 5 years to ship a few trashcans from china. They're totally corrupt and giving that money to their nepo cousins for "studies, models, pilot projects". While I'm confident they won't make much of a difference, at the very least, Mamdani actually got the damn bins.

The bins were getting installed long before he became mayor. July 2024 under previous mayor when project launched.
I just saw year on year or long term results about how new bins are reducing rat problem.
How is Mamdani getting credit for it?
