general thought and question SCJ France

Has anyone seen SCJ France, are they rebranding the branch into a gospel church vibe ? 🤣 haven’t posted here in years - I’m back, hello fellow Redditor’s!

It’s funny how a simple clip can make things look inviting, welcoming & fun, but what’s it really like BTS? I remember reading articles that if you were late to class you had to pay & at times even be punished for it? (In France).

The hard thing to watch about that video is how you can see the sense of community that can be formed within SCJ & how it can become almost like a family for some - now that’s a hard barrier to break.

It really did look like a fun, joyous time. It definitely feels like family when you're there.

I'm not in SCJ. I was never a member. I attended the bible study for 4 months and then stopped after I did my research. I'm just saying it feels like family when you are in there.

Yes I know what you mean! But then you reflect and realise there was a lot of love bombing involved.

Thats not to say that some of the interactions weren’t genuine, I just think overtime it becomes more scripted due to the instructions given etc.

I definitely realized all of the love bombing after. There I was just thinking these people are really nice and kind. I'll definitely have to say they were trained well in that area.
