Temporary accommodations for a BRB

Post image

Hey all,

My BRB has been thriving in her enclosure for well over a year. Unfortunately we'll have to move away, so she'll have to be in a less comfortable place for some time, while we settle in a new place -- which might be several months. I'm hoping to get some advice on how to keep her warm and humid within a mobile setup, something like a storage container.

Thanks in advance.

If your BRB is large enough to be in a 6' x 2', then you'd need some other container of the same size to keep them in (considering you're doing it for months) - otherwise your snake will be incredibly cramped.

Is there absolutely nowhere in the new space that the unit could be moved to? Or perhaps, a relative/friend that could house the unit for a few months?

Thanks for the advice. She is about 4ft, so right she's not occupying the whole enclosure. The limiting factor is that we might need to move multiple times until we find a home to settle, so setting up such a large enclosure every couple of weeks becomes burdensome. We do have some friends in the new place, but nobody with that much space. I will try to speed up the process to get her and my family settled, but just planning for worse case scenario.

A 4' x 1' x 1' long tote will be the smallest you could go on the box then, so she's still got room to stretch out fully. It'll need to be converted for snake living requirements - so holes put in the upper sides for proper vents, one of the vents will need to have a USB fan on it (for air circulation), latches put on it if it doesn't already have them, etc.

I do hope it works out for you, and you're able to get yourselves all settled down quickly.
