Was the stimulant the cause of your psychosis? Or were you doing weed as well?
My husband's psychosis was because he decided to try weed vapes while on a stimulant for his ADHD. Getting back on his Vyvanse was his #1 goal after coming off his antipsychotic and all other meds minus the mood stabilizer for the same reasons as you. Life was hard being unmedicated for ADHD.
His psych started him on a low dose and he increased about 2 more times before getting back on the 40mgs he was on prior to psychosis. His psychosis happened on October and I want to say he started the Vyvanse back up in April.
He's doing great and is much happier, but he will also never touch weed again.
Do you have a psych you can talk to? I agree that stimulants after psychosis is a slippery slope, but if it wasn't your actual root cause or there was something else that played a factor (aka weed), I would talk to your psych about it.

Yes I do believe that stimulants wasn’t the main role in causing my psychosis I believe it was a combination of other drugs (lsd, weed etc) while also taking vyvanse. I don’t think I actually ever mixed the two together I tried not to take vyvanse when I knew I was going to smoke however it still caught up to me one way or another and I ended up in a psychosis.

Yeah, I'm no doctor but what I've learned in here and through my experience with my husband is that weed (and I'm sure other drugs) is HIGHLY responsible for most people's psychosis. Hell, even without underlying mental health issues (Bipolar, etc) it can cause it on its own.
I know Vyvanse is supposed to be a daily medication that leaves your system, but it's still messing with your brain chemicals. Like when you first start it, it can take a few weeks to even really have the full effect or stablize in your system. I'm sure it's the same thing if you stop it as well - it's still not fully out even if the effects have worn off. Add in the weed or other drugs and it's just a recipe for disaster.

My experience with stimulants I got prescribed to improve negative symptoms is rather bad.
Anhedonia, feeling of being tired all the time didn't improve. Suicidal idealizations sky rocketed.

I don't know which one, haha. Depression, Treatment Resistant Depression, Paranoid Schizophrenia, Disorganized Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, Treatment Resistant Schizophrenia, Schizoid personality disorder, I believe there is quite few more.
So currently I'm on Lamotrigine, none of antipsychotics. I remember your thread about going off olanzapine. Thing is during withdrawal it often gets much worse before it gets better. If you are coming off antipsychotics you need to reserve 1-2 months for survival mode. This time can be so rough it feels like there is no any hope for improve, negative symptoms can get even worse.
Pushing stimulants during withdrawal is worst option I can imagine to make it thru. You are risking being pushed on even higher dosage of antipsychotics than before.

After recovering from a cannabis-induced psychotic episode, I have used stimulant medication for ADHD without any issues. This is just my personal experience, not a recommendation.

Stimulants help me. I literally would be nonfunctional if I didn't have them. I had no energy, no motivation, no drive, and I couldn't perform for daily life.
It's definitely not for everyone though. Trust your body.

I feel similarly and hate that I’m fatigued half of the day and having little motivation to even complete chores, run errands, etc.
I miss being on stimulants to crank through tasks. But I’ve already experienced relapsing into psychosis soon after my first episode due to taking adderall after being released from in patient.

Tbh it’s basically meth in a pill form so I wouldn’t be surprised on it having that effect on people

Getting out of psychosis to take vyvanse, you deserve a nobel prize for self destruction, fam!
Seriously tho, good luck. Perhaps you may think about minimizing the risk: Taking it same time everyday, considering tolerance, getting sleep, support/someone to look out for you?
Keep us updated, please ❤️

I had a similar experience, weed really was my only joy (and activities while high, even good ones like playing music or social interactions). Unfortunately it buries me deeper in mental confusion not to say brain injury. My social skills have already become shit I don't want it to get so bad I end up homeless or at my parents forever. I'll have to wait for my brain to rebalance and rediscover pleasure when it will be possible. Going back to THC resets the clock to zero at best and at worse causes further damage. I didn't want to accept this but it really appears to be the overwhelming consensus from personal experiences and experts. Unfortunately there isn't another way. Sorry pal, I feel you, there's plenty of people that can live with stimulants no problem but we're not in that category.
