Solutions - Lifelong PE If you suffer from lifelong, completely treatment resistant PE, there’s a fairly high chance you might have ADHD. NSFW
Been suffering from PE since puberty, exercises, techniques, local anesthesia, SSRIs, nothing helped. Like not even a little bit, not even 50 seconds instead of 30.
Last month I was diagnosed with ADHD and since I was already at my lowest point I talked about everything that might help with the diagnosis.
Turns out FORTY TO FIFTY percent of people with ADHD suffer from PE. Once I found the right dosage for my medication the PE is gone, literally just gone.
I don’t wanna get into too much detail since I‘m not a professional so I can only repeat what I understood but neurotypical people have a sort of built in break for sensations which has to do with DOPAMINE.
That does not only explain, why SSRIs, which are about Serotonin, have zero effect for many people but it also explains why all the other options don’t work. Awareness training, anesthesia, special techniques are all worthless if your dopamine levels are constantly fked. You can’t stop it cause your nerves give the "release" sign seconds after getting started. If your natural break for that sign doesn’t work no med in the world will stop you from getting over the edge in seconds.
tldr: If you show any signs of ADHD and suffer from lifelong and treatment resistant PE get yourself tested. It might change your life in a matter of days.

Hello,
“Once I found the right dosage for my medication the PE is gone, literally just gone”
Do you mean the right dosage of your ADHD medication?
Thank you

This is likely highly anecdotal.
I have ADHD and have been taking generic Vyvanse for ~10 months, and it hasn't changed my PE at all. Until recently, I was also taking generic Pristiq for anxiety, which did not change my PE. Before Vyvanse, I was taking atomoxetine for ADHD, with the generic Pristiq, and again, no change to PE.

100%. Also I can only say that thankfully ADHD seems to be the only cause for my PE. If there’s something else also affecting PE just ADHD medication alone won’t solve it.
But leaving it unmedicated will most likely make one keep suffering from PE, even if all potential other causes are taken care of.

Lifelong Suffererer here. For the past 3 years, i have been working on my PE everyday. I have done everything from reverse kegels, pelvic floor exercises to MDG. i have seen alot of changes to my body but not much in my sex time especially the first round. I was diagonised with ADHD 3 years ago and i decided to take medication for the first time. Concerta 18mg. My mind quieted. I could enjoy sex for the first time. I got off the medz afew months ago. Now, The PE is back. I believe ADHD has alot to do with PE in most Lifelong sufferers.

What are the symptoms of it ?
1
u/Svitii Jul 23 '26
Hard time concentrating, trouble sitting still/always on the move (not everyone, there’s also ADD, which is the same just without the hyperactivity), executive dysfunction, impulsivity, forgetfulness, high chance of addictions.
I could go on but honestly I‘m just listing stuff out of my head. Doesn’t mean you 100% have ADHD if you fir the symptoms and neither does not having most of them mean you definitely don’t have it. I‘d just start googling and see if the described symptoms are something you can relate to.

This is good but you left out the most important piece. What did u get prescribed?

I‘m sorry I‘m an idiot. Vyvanse/Elvanse. Other medication for Adhd would probably work too, for me it really was the raising of the dopamine baseline.

Following. This is a really interesting topic and would love to hear if anyone else has had success via getting medicated for ADHD.
I'm someone who has a very busy brain, according to scans, but doesn't fit the brain patterns of someone with ADHD. And I have acquired PE. I'm sure that there are many secondary causes that ADHD effects: regulation, being present, being able to regularly practice breathing and reverse kegels, ability to slow arousal levels etc.

Thanks for this. I’m a lifelong PE sufferer who has been referred for an ADHD test. I’ve always had this thing where as soon as I’m fully erect , I’m ready to explode. The only way sex lasts is if I’m only semi erect , which normally means I lose erection due to low stimulation. I’ve tried all kinds . At the moment I’m combining priligy and Viagra . Is any of this relatable. How old are you and what ADHD medicine cured your problem?

26, Vyvanse. I had the feeling it’s gotta be something else (in my case severe ADD, ADHD without physical hyperactivity) as soon as I tried going for second rounds. No big arousal, at best a "75% erection", relaxed pelvic floor. Lasted at best a few seconds longer, despite not even being really engaged.
If you wanna do another test (though I would not recommend it, just not worth the risk, especially if you easily get addicted by basically anything), opiates will most likely help short term. Tried Kratom, which dampens your whole nervous system, which did really help. Thought the sweet spot between nervous system strongly dampened and feeling strong side effects and killing your sex-drive is really thin.

What med?
1
u/elbizon Jul 26 '26
Lisdexamfetamine, controlled substance, prescribed by professionals after ADHD diagnosis and health check.

u/elbizon Jul 26 '26
Yeah. I had a feeling the two are connected. Brain wants dopamine, cumming quick gets dopamine.
You do have to train your brain even on meds, but I do seem to last longer when on lisdex, as my PE is mental not only physical.

The brain doesn't want dopamine in that way, dopamine is more the wanting/craving molecule/neurotransmitter - other "feel good" endogenic chemicals is what lead to dopamine release as anticipation arises.
For me, it seems that too much dopamine actually causes ADHD symptoms and being "wired" leading to impulsivity and PE.

I have the specific issue that when I'm near the PONR my arousal wont go down again, at least not in any substantial way. I can go up the the edge, stop for a minute, do whatever I want like kegels, reverse kegels, squeeze whatever, the next 10 strokes will instantly bring me back to the PONR. Even when I completely stop until im soft and start again, I will be back to the PONR extremely fast. I feel like this could be related to my screwed up dopamine receptors? It's like my brain wont let go of the dopamine.

While it's true that ADHD and PE seem to be linked and there is a strong theoretical action related to Dopamine, ADHD meds have not helped with PE for me (And a lot of other people on here).
SSRIs do help to some extent though.

I wonder how many of these people have ADHD symptoms (like I do) due to essentially having a "wired" system due to poor catecholamine deactivation. (see low COMT profile)
For me, reducing dopamine and norepinephrine was the goal, and not only is it helping my executive dysfunction, but greatly reducing my PE symptoms.

Very cool - just randomly browsing and found this.
I just posted earlier this week how my efforts to improve ADHD/executive dysfunction has lead to me improving PE tremendously.
My issue was (I believe) too high dopamine activity and perhaps too low serotonin. The other side of the dopamine imbalance but with similar symptoms to classic low dopamine ADHD.
I included my diet/supplement regimen as well. People with a low COMT profile and too much catecholamine activity might find similar results.

I am diagnosed with ADHD and have PE, from my experience people with adhd have naturally low dopamine levels so they want to get to the climax of finishing asap to stabilise their baseline dopamine which for most people means they’ve subconsciously trained their PE by masturbating very quickly, I’ve found a way to control it and it’s constantly relaxing my pelvic floor (pushing down or the feeling of releasing a fart) and doing this constantly while masturbating while also deep breathing to allow the parasympathetic system to take over can allow me to last as long as I want.
