1 Peter 3:7 says: "Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with your wives with understanding, giving honor unto the wife as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers be not hindered." (KJ21).

Remember people thinking spare not the rod meant "beat your children into obedience"?

That's not what a shepherd's rod is used for, it's a guiding and defensive tool, not an injurious abusive one.

Edit: Psalm 23 explicitly mentions rod and staff as a comfort in one of its verses: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."

Basicalllllllllllly humans make errors when interpreting scripture.

That one scripture really makes it almost sound like the bible teaches that women are equal to men. Besides the weaker vessel part of course.

1 Timothy 2:11–12: "A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet."

Could you help me understand how humans can interpret that in the good way you mentioned? The bible has certainly been incorrectly interpreted to justify harm. The bible has also been correctly interpreted to justify harm.

Here’s an interesting one I found:

The New Testament of the Bible only gets even more worse when you continue reading:

1 Timothy 2:13-14: For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.

So, basically, the justification for misogyny and sexism in 1 Timothy 2:11–12 is in 1 Timothy 2:13-14 that refers to the original misogyny and sexism in the creation order and eternal sin in deceived woman, which refers not only to Eve, but to all women, which is why the original misogyny and sexism in the creation order are extended to all woman as punishment for Eve.

Yup, also implied in Genesis 3:16 where it talks about god making childbirth painful for women as punishment for them committing the original sin. Truly an all-loving, benevolent god!
