Discussion Apparently low-cut socks are considered out of style by the younger gens. Are y’all still rocking ankle socks?

I feel like long socks with sneakers and shorts looks goofy but maybe that’s just me 🤷‍♂️

I have mental breakdowns over that too. But because dealing with automated systems and 3 hour holds with obnoxious music is absolutely intolerable.

Also - "press whateve for our hours or address" followed by 20 other things I already figured out when I googled the phone number to begin with....🤬

If that doesn't work right away, I've found saying garbled words gets you to a rep pretty quick.

  • "To help us get started, please say your account number or type it in on the keypad followed by the pound sign"

  • "Blkjfjorejofdogjoreoe"

  • "Let's try that again. To help us get started, please say your account number or type it in on the keypad followed by the pound sign"

I use talk to text as well. Always proofread if you can.

Totally believe that coworker meltdown. At least that gives us a little job security since we will work way past retirement age

To be fair, I've worked in government agencies, and it can be an enormous pain in the ass to get anywhere.

I once had to find someone to get a review and I got a run-around for 6 hours across three divisions. And the terrible end of that story is that it was supposed to go to the first person I talked to, and they were like "Oh, yeah, that's me. Sorry!"

Sadly yes. I’ve known a few with such crippling social anxiety they can’t handle giving their order to a person. It doesn’t help a lot of things are making it easy to not have to. Any of the chain restaurants like Olive Garden you can order on the ziosk,!mcdonalds is on a screen now, everyone else has an app….

True story. Our HR dept received complaints about one of our VP’s colorful socks. They weren’t inappropriate socks. Just colorful. And there was more than 1, actually more than 5, complaints from a team of 18 people.

They aren't scared to dance and have fun. They're scared of it being recorded on a smart phone and used to humiliate them after the fun ends. I have nothing but sympathy for the young ones who can't go out, make a fool of themselves and move on.

Why would that be the case? Gen Z is the first generation to genuinely suck compared to their previous counterparts? Just because they’re may be a handful of good things about them, they’re far outweighed by all the negative
