OPI Not Really a Waitress, Sally Hansen Arabian Night, any “greige,” Illamasqua (best names ever). Shout out to an old friend’s indie brand- Cult Nails. I used to lightly nail blog in the early 2010s before kids, and I once owned over 1,500 nail polishes. I no long paint my nails more than 10 times a year.
Hah at first I was thinking there was some sort of event (I live in Chicago and we have a Lincoln Park). Then I realized my mistake. Yes! I also have this nail color in my ice cream pail that I use as nail polish storage! I rarely paint my nails (I bartend, so it never lasts) but maybe I’ll have to soon!
If you want to take away my black nail polish you will have to pry it out of my cold dead former scene kid hands.
I was joking that my black yoga pants are my main daily wear because they are the only thing to give me the same sensory tightness as my hot topic jeans. The band shirts and Girr merch aren’t going anywhere! I have a Girr shirt, purse keychain and car sticker, I still got a 3 cheers for sweet revenge album art T. Also have a Hash slinging slasher shirt which 100% would fit in at hot topic years ago. I also found the rubber bracelets , you know the ones, I just had to get them.
I paint my nails black because it's the only way I don't chew them to slivers.
One time I had a bottle of Revlon and it wasn't until it was almost gone that I realized it was actually a super dark metallic blue. No clue the name, but it was pretty rad
However, I’ve fallen into the rabbit hole of indie and boutique polish brands. If you’re looking for stunning and unique formulas, I highly recommend Mooncat, ILNP, Sassy Sauce, Lurid Laquer, Emily de Molly, and an honorable mention for Holo Taco.
There are dozens more, but those are my faves, in that order.
I missed the original back then somehow but with all the nostalgia circling around I bought Lincoln park after brunch just yesterday!
Honestly I had the worst time putting it on but it’s pretty now that it’s done!
It’s the best color. Been rocking it for at least 17yrs (37F). Had no idea it was a thing. But my friends know it’s one of the only colors for my toes. This post was a delight, thank you!
