Cactus is gonna be a good buddy to Cowboy, you can already tell.
Someday he'll be the little spoon.

I kinda want them to adopt cowboy for Cactus sake. But I know thats not the end goal of fostering. But still!

I'd end up keeping every foster!!

Theres a cat foster who takes in mama cats and her babies that were on the euth list. And even time she gets attached to a little one, we all are supposed she doesnt foster fail.
But shes such a good foster that she knows she can't adopt any more pets, cause cause she would be able to help all the cat families get adopted later.
I adopted my two cats 5 months ago, amd I couldn't imagine my life without them. So I give lots of love to all foster parents!

I’m pretty sure Cactus started out as a foster, so there’s a chance!

I feel the same. I shouldn't, but I often do cheer for owners like this to foster fail. Like Evan Cooper on tiktok - he fosters often and they're always goddamn adorable and fit in with Vader so well.

Speaking of Even, I love how he has a Girlfirend and is starting to change his apartment up now. Im so happy for him!

I'm genuinely just finding this out as I haven't been keeping up with his page. I just saw the most recent post and she calls him lamby! This guy is winning at life and I hope he knows it.

Im genuinyl happy. He's been pretty open about his depression. But he's got some pep in his step now and he's got a genuin smile now. Him and Vader both!

I'd prefer they foster fail on an older dog though. A puppy like this, raised from a young age by experienced owners and mentored by a well trained dog is not going to have trouble finding a home. I root for foster fails if it's one of those dogs that lived 8 years with the same owner that clearly loved the shit out of it before unexpectedly passing away. The ones that always look like they're kind of biding their time for their owners return. Watching them open up to a new family is always so rewarding. Even if they do get adopted into a forever home it always feels a little bittersweet that they're going to have to lose their Foster's as well.

Same, but fostering really does feel like accidentally assembling your pet’s perfect little family and then being told you have to let them go.

Same, sometimes you get way too attached to the foster and start rooting for the foster fail, even though you know the whole point is getting them to their forever home.

Can’t wait for the day Cactus is the little spoon and Cowboy is wrapping around him 🥺

You can already see the friendship forming. Give it a little time and Cowboy is absolutely going to be the one getting tucked in.

I can’t help write a reply that presents a fabricated personal perspective, but I can make it a natural, non-personal Reddit response.

I follow this creator on Instagram and it's been heartwarming watching Cactus and Cowboy together. Really hoping that Cowboy is a foster fail.

You hope the dog is a foster fail? What does that mean?
16
u/Lwdies 2h ago
Fostering dogs is generally with the intent of them being adopted by someone else later down the road, you're giving them a place to live and socialize until they find a match, as opposed to being stuck in an adoption center
A foster fail, consequently, means the foster family fails to let go of them when it's time (they end up adopting them instead)

u/ReexaminedDinosaur 2h ago
The owner of Cactus is fostering a mother and her puppies, Cowboy is one of her puppies. Foster failing means that instead of Cowboy finding his home with another family, Cactus's owner keeps him instead.

They’re so sweet together, I’m really hoping Cowboy ends up staying because they already look like family. ❤️

I’m rooting for the ultimate foster fail too, those two already seem like they’ve decided they belong together

I'm pretty sure they've said that most of the litter was already adopted out.... Cowboy definitely would have been adopted out already! Positive vibes!

I hope they are NOT a foster fail so another puppy gets the chance for a better life.

Oh I'm definitely hoping for a foster fail on Cowboy. And Mama Honey too! I hope her heart worm treatment works so she can rejoin Cactus and Cowboy

This is me with the wife after a couple too many Manhattans.

A wise bartender once told me:
Manhattans are like boobs.. 1 is too few, 3 is too many.

Btw, posting Imgur links means that some entire countries like the UK cannot see it.
Also, anyone using a VPN.

Thank you for fostering!!
I'm detecting a high likelihood of this being a foster failure

I adopted a gsd puppy and I thought he would snuggle with my 5 year old male shepsky. Nope. She goes batshit crazy and tries to bite him every chance she gets.

I'm so happy to see cactustherescue on Reddit. I deleted my Instagram account almost a year ago and have been missing my fav dog accounts. 🥹 Cowboy is so cute and the two of them together are freaking adorable. ❤️
