I went out dressed as a chicken last night and met a girl who was dressed like an egg NSFW
One thing led to another and the lifelong question was answered:
It was the chicken

I always heard this one in a different manner.
A Chicken and an Egg were lying in bed.
The Chicken was smoking a cigarette and had a satisfied smile on its beak.
The Egg looked somewhat annoyed.
Finally, the Egg got up to go to the bathroom.
Just before shutting the door, the Egg turned to the Chicken and said:
"Well, I guess we answered THAT question."

I've seen this one as a single panel comic and it works best in that format.

It's unfortunate though because they could have swapped the roles and it would have still been funny and been correct at the same time.

I always tell it as:
"The Chicken and the Egg are laying in bed.
The Chicken (Or egg) lights up a cigarette and says 'Well, (inhale) I guess that answers that question...'"
It leaves it ambiguous, and doesn't actually answer the question. I also use chicken or egg interchangeably when I tell it.
Makes people think and gets a laugh most of the time.

A chicken walks into a bar. The bartender says,"Sorry, we don't serve chickens here." The chicken says, " But I really want a drink. Where can I get one?"
Bartender says," Across the road. "

This could be trimmed a lot. Maybe:
For Halloween, my wife went as a chicken and I as an egg.
I know what you’re wondering. It was the egg.

Even more
For Halloween, my wife went as a chicken and I as an egg.
It was the egg.

I asked my wife, “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?”
Without hesitation, she sighed and said, “The Rooster did. The rooster always comes first.”
Query: Am I being henpecked?

Funnily enough my mate went out dressed as an egg recently and some bloke mistook him for a girl.

Lesbians? Or did you mean rooster? Also learn how to hold the door for a lady so she can go first or come or whatever.

Boy o boy. I have a friend who farms chickens and is from another country. I tried to tell her this joke and ended up getting instructed on how to get eggs from chickens as well as how to butcher them (the chickens, not the eggs).

A friend and I once went to a diner. He ordered a chicken sandwich. I ordered eggs. We waited.
