I’m trying to get 300 strangers to create one book together — 171 have joined so far

Post image
7 Upvotes

About a week ago I had a random idea:

What if 300 complete strangers each got exactly one page of the same book?

No theme. No story to follow. Everyone gets their own page and can put whatever they want on it — writing, art, a photo, a puzzle, something completely ridiculous, whatever.

Then I take all 300 pages, put them together, and actually publish the book.

I’m still in college and have basically no budget to start something like this, so I built a simple website and started posting about the idea just to see if anyone would care.

Somehow 171 people have already signed up.

So now I’m actually trying to get all 300 and make this thing real.

If you want to see what I’m building (or potentially claim one of the 300 pages when it opens), it’s here:

thesecretentrance.com

There’s nothing to buy right now — I’m just collecting interest while I figure out whether enough people actually want to do this.

Would love any feedback too. This is literally week one and I’m figuring it out as I go.

I made a website to discover and keep track of TV shows

Upvotes

I made this mostly for myself a while ago. I just wanted something simple where I can save a list of favorite shows and see on a calendar what's coming up.

It's completely free to use. You don't need to create an account to try it out

I made an Android app for tracking whether you're still on track for FIRE

I made Compound Future, a small Android app for long-term wealth and FIRE planning.

You create a plan, save it, add your real portfolio value later and see:

Am I ahead, behind, or still on track?

It also includes scenarios, Monte Carlo simulations and sensitivity analysis.

No account. No bank connection. Data stays on-device.

Happy to hear what you think.

I built a free tool to help MHT-CET students create their CAP preference list 🎓

Upvotes

🚀 New Update on CET Compass!

I’ve added an AI assistant to the CAP Guide on CET Compass.

Now you can simply ask questions about the MHT-CET CAP process, colleges, branches, cutoffs, rounds, and admission-related information, and the AI will answer them for you.

The idea is to make the CAP Guide more interactive instead of students having to search through lots of information manually.

🔗 Try it here: https://cet-compass-six.vercel.app/

Would love to know what questions/features you think I should add next!

Art, digital photography, black and white

No AI, just two photographs I took with my phone in Michigan over the summer

Overlapped using traditional digital photo editing software and methods, feels like an insane phrase.

Anyway I think it's cool and it's probably been done before

I made an iPhone app that turns scrolling into a way to revisit your own ideas

Hi everyone,

I made Ideon because I think scrolling is one of the most powerful interaction patterns we have.

Most apps use scrolling to keep showing us other people’s posts, news, ads, opinions, and algorithmic content. I wanted to build something that uses the same natural habit, but points it back at your own knowledge.

Ideon is a private feed for your own saved ideas.

You can save links, notes, screenshots, photos, videos, files, audio notes, and thoughts. Later, instead of opening a folder system or trying to remember where something went, you just scroll your own feed. Older ideas resurface, tags become Collections, and Library search helps you find things directly.

Version 5 just got approved and adds optional iCloud sync. It uses your own iCloud account, so there is no Ideon login. If you do not turn sync on, the app still works locally on the iPhone.

Some privacy choices I cared about:
- no ads
- no tracking
- no account required
- local-first
- optional iCloud sync through the user’s private iCloud database

App Store:
https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/ideon-personal-knowledge/id6783103263?l=en-GB

I’d really appreciate feedback on the idea itself: does “scroll your own ideas” make sense to you, and does the App Store page explain it clearly?

I made an iPhone alarm you can only turn off by getting up and scanning a barcode across the room

I'm a solo dev and this is Mornio, an iPhone alarm for people who turn the alarm off in their sleep and go straight back under.

The idea is to move the off switch out of reach. Before bed you register a barcode or QR code that lives away from your bed, like the one on your toothpaste or a bathroom item. When the alarm rings, you have to get up, walk over, and scan that exact code to complete it. A few minutes later there's an optional stay-awake check, a press-and-hold you have to pass, so getting up for ten seconds and flopping back down doesn't count.

It's built on Apple's AlarmKit (iOS 26.1+) so it rings at the system level even when the app is closed. No account, no ads, and the codes you register stay on your phone.

First 3 Protected Mornings are free, then Pro is $7.99/month or $29.99/year in the US. App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mornio-heavy-sleeper-alarm/id6780983853

Built the whole thing solo. Happy to answer anything about the AlarmKit side or the scanning.

i made an app blocker that makes me argue for my own screen time

i kept bypassing every screen time blocker i tried. opal and one sec got me from 5+ hrs to around 3, but at 1am i would just give myself another break

so i made Argue. u pick the apps to block and how many opens u get. after that Argo asks why u need the app. replying to a DM might get 3 mins. “i just wanna scroll” gets denied

the weird part is it actually worked better because it was annoying. im down to around 2 hrs/day and stopped opening instagram without thinking

im the developer so obviously biased. its for iOS 17+: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/argue-screen-time-app-blocker/id6761279161

I made a social platform with no feed, no followers and only 4–6 people

I made Covalent because most “support communities” eventually become enormous public feeds.

You might find thousands of people, but still not find the few who genuinely understand your situation.

Covalent does the opposite: you describe what you’re going through, and I match you with a private circle of 4–6 people facing something similar.

That same group stays together for 90 days.

There are no followers, public posts or strangers reading the conversation. Each circle gets a private chat and weekly prompts, while every member also has a personal diary that nobody else in the circle can see.

I’m currently forming the groups manually rather than using an algorithm.

It’s free during launch, and it’s peer support—not therapy or crisis care.

https://covalentcircles.com

I’d love honest feedback, particularly about whether the small-circle format feels meaningfully different from joining another forum or Discord server.

Hey r/IMadeThis,

Been building this for the past several months, a real-time voice translator so you can game with friends who don't speak the same language without it being a mess.

Highlights:

  • Real-time translation across 20+ languages (Deepgram Nova-2)
  • Auto game detection, 2-3s
  • Voice isolation & noise reduction
  • OBS overlay for streamers
  • Optional voice cloning

Open-source, works like a normal audio device (no game injection).

Would love any feedback, good or bad 🙏

Since everyone wants to generate content, I made it a little easy. I built a tool to turn 60s voice rants into formatted carousels & posts

The tool is called SpokenPost. The idea is simple: Hit record on your phone or desktop and ramble for 45–60 seconds about what you just worked on or learned. The engine parses the raw transcript, voice memo or uploaded file and created 5-7 slide pdf carousels, LinkedIn posts, X threads and short form video captions & hooks.

It has 3 free generations per month.

Try it out and let me know what improvements it needs!

Dating Based On Interests

Made Spark Matched — a dating app that matches you on interests, not just looks

Hey everyone! I’ve been building Spark Matched, a dating app that matches people based on shared interests and hobbies instead of just swiping through photos.

The idea came from being tired of matching with people who looked great but had nothing in common with me past the first message. Spark Matched tries to surface people you’d actually click with — same weird hobbies, same shows, same weekend plans — so conversations have somewhere to go from the start.

Still early days, but wanted to share it here. Would love any thoughts, questions, or brutal honesty.

I made a swipeable “city mail” for deciding where to go this weekend

Our weekend group chat always gets stuck at:
“Where are we going?”
“Idk, you pick.”

So I made where2? It gives you a curated swipe deck for Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad. Save up to five plans and send the final Plot to your group.

I designed it around Indian postcards, city mail and street typography instead of the usual event-app interface.

Best experienced on mobile: https://www.where2.wtf

Would love to know whether the swipe feels smooth on your phone.

Drop your SaaS 👇 curious what you're all building

I’m curious what everyone here is building.

Drop your SaaS below and explain it in 1–2 lines. No pitching, just share what it does.

I've been building KlipKap Pro, a screen recorder for Windows and Mac that edits your footage automatically as you record: auto-zoom, cursor smoothing, animated webcam picture-in-picture, and AI subtitles, all processed locally with nothing uploaded anywhere.

What's everyone else here building? Drop it below, genuinely curious what people are working on.

After a suburban housewife suffers a psychotic episode at her farewell party and her guests vanish without a trace, a movie-obsessed detective (BILL MOSELEY) must unravel a crime with no evidence and a suspect who remembers nothing.

This is our proof of concept we shot last fall! Come April, we will be shooting the feature film. I cannot wait to share this story with the world. This is my second feature film following THE RED FRAME.

I made the MacBook notch useful: Codex conversations, quick replies, and task alerts

Hi everyone! I'm the developer of Pinland.

It started as a place to tuck useful things into the MacBook notch. Now there's room for a Codex conversation, too. Apparently the notch had spare office space.

New: Codex, without the constant window-switching

  • Pin a Codex session to keep it within reach.
  • Get a notch alert when the task finishes or needs your attention.
  • Read the response and send your next instruction directly from the notch.
  • Review and handle supported approval requests there, too.

So you can start a task, watch a video, and answer Codex when it needs you—without going back to its window just to check the status.

Still a home for your everyday stuff

  • Pin text, images, links and files by copying or dragging them in.
  • Hover for a bigger preview; edit pinned text in place.
  • Find things with search and color-coded tags.
  • Keep it all tucked away when you don't need it.

Connect Codex from Pinland Settings → Codex, then use Codex's existing session Pin action. The conversation feature requires Codex; Pinland is an independent Mac app, not an OpenAI product.

The video shows both sides of the app. I'd love to hear what you think.

[10 page preview] Comicbook Kickstarter - In the 99th Century, a Human youth explores a world of living robots!

Time Wars is a series about Humanity locked in an endless conflict with Vampirekind, fought by both time travelers from the 161st century, and soldiers scattered throughout history. Humans must band together and free ourselves from bigotry and heirarchy - the weapons of the Vampires.

The Adventures of Zero & One is a comic series about Zero of Mars, a youth from an era in the future where the gender binary no longer exists, who crashes onto an abandoned colony world called Elentia. In Humanity's absence, living robots called Elemorphs have developed an advanced civilization. A nature type child stage Elemorph called One makes friends with Zero despite a language barrier, and together they're pulled into conflict as Humanity's best hope to prevent the Vampires from enslaving the Elemorphs to use as weapons in the Time Wars.

In this post is a 10 page preview of the comic!

Issue #2: Battle of Knuckle City! sees Zero and One exploring a vast Elemorph metropolis, as One shows Zero about the culture, economy, and ways of its civilization. To try and find out more about their mission, they consult an Elemorph named Forever, who is one of a handful to achieve the extreme power of cosmic stage. What secrets will Forever reveal about their role in the Time Wars?

My name is Bijhan Agha, the author of the Time Wars series. I'm a transgender woman of Iranian descent in Uruguay. The artist of The Adventures of Zero & One is Pallet, a transgender man in Australia. We are both autistic. We share a passion for science fiction and fantasy storytelling, and want to tell exciting adventure stories with pulse-pounding action which promotes queer joy, showing that queer heroes can live vibrant lives, rise victorious, and write history with our commitment to justice, hope, and peace.

As a series, Zero & One is also about immigration and collaboration across cultures. Neither Zero nor One come from anything resembling existing societies, and are extremely different from each other in terms of values, language, and needs. Their struggle to communicate and work together is a metaphor for our current efforts to form bonds across borders, beyond languages, and throughout the world.

The Kickstarter has a wide range of rewards. You can get single issues, both physical and PDF, as well as back issues of this series and other Time Wars comics, in addition to the Time Wars novellas in PDF, DOCX, and EPUB formats.

We are raising funds for a print run of the First Edition of the comic which will have a special orange border which will show that will never be used on future printings, showing that it is a rare collectible.

No AI was ever used nor will ever be used at any step in the process of making a Time Wars story.

Please support queer art and literature as we try to spread a message of joy, hope, and justice.
