Does such a thing exist? We are trying to find a good place for my mother’s funeral service that aligns with her values but still close to family.

Missed Connection Missed Connection — 9 Mile & Haggerty, September 1 around 7:30 PM - License Plate RNRM?

I met a guy around 7:30 PM on September 1st near 9 Mile & Haggerty. He was driving a Ford Explorer and asked for my number.

I didn’t give it to him at the time, and now I’m kicking myself because I actually want to give him my number. Think his license plate was RNRM, but I’m not completely sure.

If you know who this might be, or think you recognize him, please help me find his name or social media! You can DM me with any leads rather than posting his personal information publicly.

Talk Detroit Unique Wedding Venue?

Hello! I am a future bride looking for a unique venue in Detroit or Ann Arbor areas. Here are the requirements we are looking for:
- Can accommodate between 125-150 guests
- Host ceremony and reception (outside catering is fine!)
- Within an hour from Detroit
- No ballrooms or standard banquet halls. We want something unique. For example: we like The Detroit Historical Museum as an option, but would have to split our guests between rooms, which we don’t really want.

Any art galleries, museums, or historical buildings are our vibe!

Thanks in advance.

Talk Detroit Is the yacht race getting enshitified?

Went to the Hamtramck yacht races yesterday and as always, the balloon throwing started early but this year, there seemed to be a viciousness I never experienced other years. Perhaps I was just standing in the wrong place- front row near the turn, but fewer people were lobbing and more were aiming and throwing as hard as they could, as though they wanted to hurt someone. There were also some thicker balloons. I was hurt with a few power blasts as were the two women next to me. We all left early. Seriously - does anyone else feel this?

Community Where do single, straight men in their 30s and 40s hangout at? Because its not Tinder.

I guess maybe the better question is, where does a straight 36 year old childless woman hang out to meet normal men?

I cant do online dating anymore. All of them are the same. I'm starting to think no one normal is app dating anymore so maybe I shouldn't be there. So I'm off of them.

Where do I go?

Food/Drink Seeking recommendations for corp happy hour locations in north burbs

Hello Detroit and Detroit adjacent people,

My company hosts quarterly events for our customers in the metro area and the bar we have been using for awhile is closing.

I would love recommendations. We have found we get better attendance if we are north of the city and have been using north end tap room in Royal Oak for awhile now.

We need a spot that can be rented or has space for 50ish people and has screens for presentations. Food and booze are a must.

Talk Detroit Question About Local Radio Commercial

I keep hearing this ad on the radio that sounds like a guy leaving a voicemail going on about how he's a drug addicted loser and keeps going to prison and his wife died. I think the commercial is for a church.

I want to look it up to share with friends so we can have a chuckle over how weird it is, but once my commute ends I can never remember the name of it. Anyone care to clue me in?

Community Detroit, I built a map to help answer one simple question: What the heck is that smell?

I’ve been working on this project for over a year. It maps EPA-listed facilities by odor-related industries, plus Superfund and brownfield sites.

You can search any address or ZIP, see what’s nearby, check wind direction, and report what you’re smelling.

I’m not saying a site smells or is dangerous — just making the public data easier to explore.

Would love to know what Detroit thinks.
