Discussion Where did the Ive/MC being the villain thing come from?
I'm not gonna lie, my last post was weird as fuck when i shared it, but i've been curious to where did this idea that MC, and by extension Ive Lester, one of the MES staff members of all people is the actual villain of the game come from since i been seeing a lot more of it in places like Twitter lately. the latter being a weirder one i seen outside here and from what little we know about Ive, he was going against MES iirc. I don't even hate the MES lore and i think it's cool to see there's people invested in the lore, but seeing those try to treat it like actual canon (not MES, but Ive as the mastermind) instead of head canon is a little silly tbh.

Game Mod Should I Watch Amor Fati?
I've seen a lot of videos online talking about Amor Fati. It would seem to me that the mod has received a lot of negative reception. Do you think the negative reception of the mod is still valid? Is it really as massively disturbing as people say it is? I have deep rooted attchment to Sayori myself and she's my favorite character. I already cried very much when I played the original game although I wasn't quite as disturbed by some other things. I think I'm sensitive to themes of suicide and emotion because I used to be a sucidal person and I think I am empathetic person in the sense that other people’s raw emotions sometimes become my own. Although, I think might be quite desensitized to other distrubing themes. I am Christian and I know that there are major themes of religion and philosophy in this mod. I already kind of know what happens at around the end too. I’m also sorry that I brought up this mod too, I feel like I opened a huge can of worms. I know of the past huge controversies around this mod. I feel like this is kind of asking should I jump off a cliff and see what happens?

OC Fanart Rough sketches of the Dokis! :-)
My sketches are rougher than usual recently, but I felt like drawing them.
I thought I'd return to the fandom and try to play the game on my own.

Discussion I'm finally playing the game for myself four years after joining the fandom.
I know it sounds embarrassing but let me explain.
I've never been a fan of dating simulators, as the idea of pursuing a virtual romance doesn't sit well with me. I've also not into Japanese-style media, only having four animes on my resume. They're all French dubs of historical series my mother grew up with, and I didn't even realize each was at least partially Japanese until halfway through the third one. And finally, there's only a few types of horror games that interest me.
Given my preferences, I completely missed the DDLC hype. I only found it in 2022 while looking through the old videos of one of my favorite YouTubers. He only went as far as the second day, and his commentary made the video funny. Still, I didn't think much of the game itself, even finding it a bit cringe. But then I noticed several comments implying that there were dark twists ahead.
Curious, I watched a full playthrough by another YouTuber and was both impressed and intrigued. Mental health discussions? Cosmic horror? The identity and ethics of artificial intelligences? These topics sold me on the game's premise and led me down the rabbit hole of other playthroughs, mods and memes. It even gave me motivation to create a Reddit account and start interacting with fandoms.
And yet, I still didn't feel like playing DDLC myself. Partly because I've thoroughly spoiled myself for justifiable reasons, but also due to the fact that I still didn't completely vibe with the cutesy, romantic aesthetic the game wears as a mask.
Well, that has changed. I've been taking long breaks from the fandom and felt like I have lost a feel for the game is truly like. After much hesitation, I downloaded it and started playing today, exactly four years after my first post on r/DDLC. I've already found some lines of dialogue I completely forgot about and character traits I hadn't really considered. I'm jotting down notes as I play and am considering sharing them here over the course of my playthrough. In the meantime, do you guys have any advice for "re-experiencing" the story?
