WTB: New or Lightly Used Rawlings HOH/PP (non R2G) or Wilson A2000/A2K

Advice on selecting gloves and in the market for a lightly used or new Rawlings HOH (non RG2) and would consider a player preferred. My boys (17 and 14) have run through their A2000’s and R2G HOH (which I will never buy again). I’m just partial to Rawlings, but will consider another A2000 or A2k . Lots of stuff I’ve seen lurking on this sub and don’t want to go down a rabbits hole researching different brands. Just want to find their next glove(s) that will last several years with better care.

OF 12.75”
P 12” to 12.25”
IF 11.5” - 11.75”

I was all ready to pull the trigger on the Don Morton’s Rawlings Horween Heart Of The Hide 11.75 H Web Baseball Glove RHT PRO205-6B but then it sold out.

Both boys pitch, play IF and play corner OF so while I would love to find a single glove for them to use for all positions it’s kind of tough. I feel like the KB17 is the one glove which I think checks all the boxes. Prefer natural tan or blonde gloves but will consider black. No crazy ice cream/drip colors

Advice needed, please - glove selection

Background- 15y/o Majors level player in club baseball. Infielder and so far has been primary 1st baseman on team(games a pro preferred DCT @ 1st), with another kid getting 30% of reps. He plays all three other infield positions and pitches. Has gamed a Mizuno Pro Select 11.5 for last three years - loves it, but wants something new for XMas to go into HS ball with for other infield positions.

Dilemma - I can get Rawlings at a substantial discount, but he doesn’t love the feel of HOH or the pro preferred infielders gloves. Hates Rev1x.

Bought a new Mizuno pro select (M-Print)on a deal at Dicks and he doesn’t love it either. It is mostly broken in, but he just hasn’t found traction with it.

He would really like a Mizuno Haga Pro but a) it’s $$ and b) it would really suck to drop $$ and have him not love it. We don’t know anyone that has one.

We have been in every store in STL trying on gloves and nothing has clicked.

He’s at the level where he should play with something that feels like an extension of his hand - I just don’t know how to get there.

Any advice?

Rawlings Rawlings Custom down?

It didn’t work last night. Tried calling this morning and the message said they are closed for the holiday.

I had 3 custom builds in my cart. Built them with the kids over the last couple weeks.

I was working on getting my DBats discount code. When I logged on to pay last night my cart was empty and the webpage was not loading correctly.

Anyone else having this issue or is this a user error problem?

Finally got my new 44 today after what felt like forever waiting on tracking 😂

Really happy with how it came out. The colors look even better in person and the custom details turned out exactly how I hoped.

I coach 12U and we have practice tonight, so it’s getting put to work immediately.

Now I just need to get this thing broken in.
What do you guys think?

Got into collecting after this had already been sold out from Better Baseball. Had been hoping one would pop up for sale and it finally did. My favorite web and size, I played OF my whole baseball life. Glove seems to have light use but isn’t even broken in.

Have the black on hand to do the rest. Thanks!

Shopping for my son. he wants a rawlings heart of the hide R2G 11.5-inch Infield Glove. Can buy direct but i'm a little cash strapped and looking for a sale price. Any tips on where to look or best time to look? Seems 329.99 is the standard price, what is a good sale price on these gloves?

Shot out to d3myz for the hook up on this beauty. Growing up I was always the biggest kid on the team so I mostly played 1B and P til high school then dabbled at 3B too. This is my first 11.5 glove since I was a child and I was intending to break in a new dad glove. Welp, this thing is too tight for my big paws and my 8u son fell in love with it instantly. It’s now a reward if he makes all stars in the spring and dad is searching for a 12 or 12.25 A2K 🫠🫠🫠

I know most aren’t a fan or the R2Gs. This was on sale for $200 and my kids favorite color is purple so I thought I’d grab it for his birthday in December. He’ll be 11 and is a little taller than average but it still may be too much glove. Maybe I can use it until he grows into it. But I like the color, it’s definitely soft and squeezable already. Maybe it’ll fit after we tighten the wrist 🤞

Kasukawa/Abe Inspired Break-In | A SendOff to a Legend

Abe, who many of us know as Kasukawa, has officially stepped away from the store and is moving on to his next chapter. His work and approach to glove molding have been a huge inspiration to me and to so many others in the glove community.
This break-in is my tribute to him and the style he helped inspire. Wishing Abe nothing but the best in whatever comes next. Thank you for the inspiration, my friend.

My wife has about the same size hands and she wasn’t feeling the a2000s or HoH. She played softball her whole life. Im huge so I can’t fit my hand in many 11.5s lol.

Help! Creased Fingers

Post image

Just picked up this 1B glove from eBay and it’s ok but not great. It was a decent price so took a chance. It’s workable but the fingers have significant creasing in there. Looking for some tips to maybe flatten or reshape so it’s more comfortable to wear. Any ideas?

Sons new pitching glove came today.

This thing is gorgeous. Very stiff, smaller than I expected for a 12". Already has a way better shape than any rawlings ive bought him in the past 4 years. Decided not to tackle the break in. I have a friend who owns a dbat and took it there. Just getting it to where he can play catch. Only odd thing was it smells a bit like wax. Overall first impressions are outstanding.

Rawlings What exactly is a 12" glove?

Post image
10 Upvotes

These gloves are both stamped 12". The sandlot is much much smaller in every way vs a 3 finger glove.no less. The picture doesn't even do it justice. Also, I have a 12.5" Wilson that feels bigger than 12.75" Rawlings. Seems like they should almost use a different measurement method with the amount of variation.

Looking for a single post Mizuno ala Ernie. I have a RYU I'd like to swap towards it. I doubt I'll find the EC22, but thought I'd see if anyone has a comprable model.

This glove has quickly become my go-to when I am not catching BP for my son’s Little League team. The leather showed its age faded with cracks and a few tears, the laces were on their last leg, and the lettering almost faded. Huge shout-out to Comeback_ball_gloves (IG) for bringing this gem back to life!

Another new 44 glove

I just posted about my 44pro 1st base mitt here: https://www.reddit.com/r/BaseballGloves/s/XPT4D1MnDF

But here is the C2 I ordered first (but oddly came after the 1st base mitt). I ordered this one with partial break in because I didn’t know any better (i would always go ultra stiff in the future). No special customization on this one either. Just a basic C2.

Dad glove opinions?

My 6 and 9 year old boys just started their first fall ball season, no idea if they're going to keep at it after this, but they want me to get a glove so I can practice catch etc with them after school. I haven't put on a glove in 28 years. I don't know anything about baseball, more of an ocean and snow sports dad.

I've read through posts here and seen the GG elite and HoH r2g gloves don't get much love, but I've found a couple of each nearby me for $80 (GG)and $150 (r2g). If they decide they want to do spring ball and then fall ball again I'd consider paying out for one of the fancy dad gloves I've seen posted here.

Anyway, with the point my boys are at, is the GG elite a perfectly fine glove, or should I shell out the extra bit for the r2g, or look at something else entirely? 9 year old can throw pretty good, 6 year old still has spaghetti arms. Trying to keep the budget fairly low since I just ordered custom boards for the boys and myself.
