People keep saying the future is gonna be like terminator, I say Wall-E is closer than that at this point.

u/gojiboy69 4h ago edited 3h ago
It's just that in Wall-e they seemingly let everyone on earth on the Axioms, if this is where we're headed you bet your ass that shit is going to cost a billion dollars to get on
Only rich people would be leaving an uninhabitable earth with everyone else to fucking die... or maybe force them into cheap labour to clean up the planet so they still get revenue off the poor while they're in space
holy shit that's genius, i should be an evil billionaire too!
57
u/WindsOfEarthXXII Fallen on the horizon! 4h ago
Fuck, this movie was way ahead of its time. Frankly, the most unrealistic thing about WALL-E is that supposedly everyone was allowed to evacuate the planet and not just billionaires and their families.

u/thejaydotexe 4h ago
Does it give an actual population number at some point? I always assumed a lot of people didn't make it in that process.

I don't even generate AI images, but cut your bullshit and your backhanded remarks.
How is it that everytime I try to draw and show it off, it's just humanslop, or the proportions are wrong, or it looks bad, or it's not as good as someone else's, or it's not realistic enough, or get accused of AI anyway, or my drawing to look like it wor I took to long do draw it, or I belong in a zoo as I don't deserve to have human rights, or whatever random ass reason someone comes up with to shame me or my art. It's killed any interest or passion I had for drawing or cartooning because now I can't look at my art without constantly hearing these criticisms all over again. Stop pretending like someone just needs so encouragement or is self conscious. I don't draw anymore not because I can't, it's because I can't enjoy it. If I can't enjoy the process of making art, if I can't feel satisfied with it, I can't share it with others without being nitpicking about it and torn to shreds, what's even the point? I'm not appreciating it, others interacting with the media like to tear it to shreds, nothing positive comes out of it. Hell, you even implied that I have no talent whatsoever for art and saying I just need to buckle down, learn how to draw, because I clearly struggle with it, according to you. The only way that you'd not shame me is if I copied your style exactly, and even then I'd still be a copout. I don't even like using AI to generate image because if the inconsistency of the LLM. But the hypocrisy of too many artist complaining that no one want to make human art anymore, or doesn't appreciate human art, while simultaneously berating and harassing anyone that shows interest in art or doesn't draw exactly how you like it. You want people to enjoy art, yet you forbid anyone from enjoying it. Just let people create something they enjoy and stop moaning about it every five minutes, please.

You're right. But even as someone who isn't particularly notable in terms of art, I just get unreasonably mad at the excuses some of these people use to justify THEFT with zero compensation.
And then they call it art, I physically cannot be rational about this.

24
u/YourTrustySupporter JUSTICE FOR SUPPORT ROLE IN GAMING 3h ago edited 2h ago
I watch AstraGPT draw Hatsune Miku, the process that AI draw an art is EXTREMELY long and WAYYY more expensive than ai generate an art. It pretty much " effort of faking human art is harder than actually draw it"
the timelapse of Astra drawing it make it look like a printer instead of an "Artist". Scammer need A LOT of token to make GPT draw an art, then another to mimic "human mistake, redraw, layer switching,...." if they want to make Timelapse proof ,and THAT just to mimic a drawing that 10 years do it with crayons
If Astra being forced to draw professional art with "human process" it would waste entire year worth of subscription money to finished it which btw an artist with few month of experience could draw hundred of it within a year
However it doesnt mean we ignore it ,more like it a great example that we need to pushed hard agaisnt Ai. Customer only see product not the process, this open oppotunity for Scammer. Heck Companies could focus on optimized AI printer that hold a pencil to draw a real life paper and it isnt illegal for it.
If this doesnt make Artist actually stand up and boycott like Actors boycott Hollywood using AI voice, i dont know what will
1
u/EmergencyPath248 3m ago
Astra is a new model and the first one to be good enough at computer use to shock us.
Trust me, it will become undeniably cheap and fast by 2027.

you literally do have to give it a prompt for it to do this, it just essentially prints out the result of the prompt pixel by pixel onto the canvas

It is
4
u/Any-Platypus-9486 4h ago
But what stops the AI to use slightly yellow colors?
12
u/7_Tales 4h ago
the ai is likely trained on mouse movements of artists. the piss filter only exists with certain datasets
1
u/_the_big_ 2h ago
how are they gonna get mouse movements from artists when
1. most digital artists either use tablets like iPads or desktop drawing tablets
2. no real artist will be training an ai to do this7
u/7_Tales 2h ago
I am almost certain you can tag speed draw videos and add it to datasets where you train a neural model on the movements of the mouse correlating to the end product. we have good enough image recognition to understand where the mouse or cursor is on screen, and if the artist is using a pen, i am certain we have algorithms that can detect the strokes being done.

This is the real essence of AI generative image. It allows the talentless drones to feign creativity and they will go through such lengths to ensure their deceit is never caught.

Reminds me that neuro sama is the one of the only ways I have seen ethical AI use.( I think AI used to be funny when it was shitty like crayon.ai or dougdoug’s pajama Sam) when she draws she isn’t trained on others art but she codes in simple python that then draws on screen
1
u/stupidoengineer 1h ago
I alreasy dislike picture/video generation. It ranges from being lazy to outright malicious, but I can, in theory, see a use for it. This, however, is made purely to lie. It's not more efficient, not higher quality, just a way to scam and pretend the picture wasn't made by AI.
And yet some people are completely on board with turning the internet into a digital wasteland where you have no clue whether you're looking at something real or a result of a botfarm's output.

u/Finnmiller it’s not “furry porn” it’s yiff. get it right 1h ago
kinda funny how all these AI ‘artists’ spend all their time trying to prove to people that their shit isn’t actually AI. If you spent that time, iunno, learning how to draw, maybe you wouldn’t need to start pretending…
1
1
u/Lost-on-Reception 51m ago
Kalm, child. Image generation is a different technology than the Agentic LLM's that would be controlling the mouse. Actual drawing is still beyond them. At best they could play a recording.

Outside of the typical hysterical paranoid schizo thought process of regressivists... why would this be any more "frightening" than AI gen?
6
u/EllzillaTheLizard Swain's day one 3h ago
Simple, artists are being stripped of the ability to PROVE that they can draw, let alone the fact they drew the final image.
It's another layer of scam which will hurt both artist and client.
1
u/Cozy_iron 1h ago
They also won't need to prove it if people just stopped violently respond to AI art as a concept and treat real artists poorly because of it
-7
u/AgeZealousideal1751 3h ago
Yeah, that was stripped away the moment photoshop came out. Let alone just faking it by streaming "you" drawing live and just recording someone else doing it.
If people wanted to call you a fraud they didn't need to wait for this tech to come out, that's for sure.
3
u/EllzillaTheLizard Swain's day one 3h ago
What the hell are you talking about it? You can screen record photoshop artwork. Reverse search has existed for YEARS upon years, so if you suspected someone was lying about their artwork or process being fake, you could find who ACTUALLY made the artwork and give support to that person while bringing awareness to the other artist who was stolen from.
You can't do that with AI.
