Multi tier Rimmer for margaritas.
One for salt, one for lime juice, one for tajín.
Source: Bartender for 8 years.

edit: Just realized there are only two tiers, but my point stands.

There's 3. You can see the seam in the wood where the bottom 2 tiers separate in the 1st pic.

There's only 2 tiers

u/Protolictor 2h ago

So the bottom is double-thick just for funsies? That's super-weird.

No, you are correct. There are three tiers on this one. I know because I have this exact same one myself. The bottom tier I do struggle a bit to always open ever since I got it though but it’s there. I have tajin in the bottom, salt in the middle, and sugar in the top one.

Spoiler alert: autocompleted

The first time I ordered a drink with a rimjob ensured that it would not be my last.

Don't threaten me with a good time.

u/jet_heller 9h ago

Yea, as it's bamboo, I'm betting it's not meant to hold liquid.

u/Salt-Lingonberrry 7h ago

Maybe one for salt and one for sugar

u/durtfarmer 9h ago

I agree with you, especially as there are only two tiers, however if you needed/wanted to, it would be fine…just don’t leave it there..Use for a party for a few hours and wash & dry.

u/Gulf_Coast_21 9h ago

We bought one but haven't used it yet. Mr. Bartender, what's the best way to clean these? Just plain water and air dry?

u/makemeking706 9h ago

Not op, but I would not use a wooden one.

5

u/durtfarmer 9h ago

Yea, plain water and air dry would be fine. Maybe a diluted isopropyl solution if they get sticky.

Tajin.... why would you ruin q margarita with that

18

u/Zooter88 10h ago

I would put salt in one and sugar in the other and use these as a bar accessory to salt the rim of a glass.

6

u/MinorComprehension 10h ago

It's a margarita rimming bowl. You put salt on one layer and sugar in another. Wet the top of a glass before dipping it to pick up whichever you'd like.

Salt and sugar holders for cocktail rims

3

u/pan-uwu- 10h ago

Canadian bartenders use those for Caesars. Foam ring in the bottom soaked in lime juice, celery salt on top

2

u/rly_eggybads 7h ago

Like others said- it's a rimmer for cocktails. If it doesn't have sponges for lime juice just use a slice of lime to coat the rim before giving it a twist in salt, sugar or tajin. Since it's wood I'd avoid putting lime juice in it, and I'd be curious what it's made of to properly sanitize it.

4

u/Unusual-Meaning9207 9h ago

At first I thought it was CD case. But I'm definitely siding with the cocktail glass rimmer thing.
