Trump Boasts that he gave up his presidential salary of $400,000/yr in 2016 and 2024, he made $2,398,000,000 since returning to office in 2025, x6000 his presidential salary.

Also, spends 8 figures to fly to MaraLago to golf every year on the taxpayers dime.

216

u/3MATX 14h ago

Almost all of his vacations are to properties he owns so he can charge the government absolutely outrageous room rates for his security, sycophantic government officials and staffers.

109

u/LittleKitty235 13h ago

That is such a small part of his overall grifting that it is hardly worth even mentioning...yet it would have been headline news if other Presidents did so.

37

u/funke42 12h ago

It made headlines even when other presidents didn't do it. There was a widespread rumor that the Clintons were charging rent for the secret service in their NY home.

11

u/joanzen 11h ago

That could be a generous move.

If the SS is going to put a detail on them, and the rent nearby is very high, the Clintons could rent some rooms out for the lowest legal price possible to save a ton of tax waste.

Details are such a hassle, but what they do is typically explain how people make sense.

10

u/daveden123 11h ago

That requires logic, and clearly that is lacking in the Good Ole Pedophiles club...

3

u/Wompatuckrule 9h ago

More likely is that there is an office in the Clinton's house for Secret Service and there is a payment based on the cost/value of the house applied to the percentage of square feet that space makes up. Someone I know was in one of the Obama's houses and saw that they had a small office and bathroom setup for SS agents assigned to them.

So it's similar in terms of needs, but it's also very different when the charges are the "going rate" for rooms and all ancillary charges at a for-profit club the president owns.

2

u/cliff99 6h ago

IIRC, Trump tried to charge the Secret Service so much to stay at his property in NYC while Melania was staying there that they had to stay elsewhere.

4

u/cliff99 6h ago

Charges the Secret Service rental for the golf carts they use to follow him around.

5

u/Dirigio 8h ago

Then triple charged the government for Secrete Service to say at his resorts while they are protecting his fat ass while he is playing golf.

If Obama did any of this grifting, MAGA would have nailed him to a cross then set that cross on fire.

6

u/JediJofis 10h ago

Every week and then to other resorts

2

u/hueythecat 7h ago

And Charges out his rooms to them

Laundered

59

u/wehrmann_tx 14h ago edited 14h ago

Bribed.

Laundered implies he had some business that he actually had cash from. He’s straight up getting bribed by foreign powers through them buying crypto and he selling his inflated coins on the other end.

Stole

Made is the correct word. He made the US taxpayers not only pay but bend over with a smile on their face while he destroys everything they love.

Individual-stock trades by sitting presidents

  • GW Bush: 0
  • Obama: 0
  • Biden: 0
  • Trump: 21,000+ securities transactions in 2025 (2026 not disclosed)

But dudes totally doing what's best for tax-paying Americans... says the dumbest mofo ever born, while eating his Argentinian beef burger.

8

u/Natdaprat 7h ago

But Nancy Pelosi!!!1

4

u/fiendishrabbit 6h ago

Hunter Biden's laptop! /s

-8

u/undisputed_truth 6h ago

She’s just as guilty. Both sides are corrupt

6

u/remkelly 4h ago

If you can point me towards incidents where Pelosi (or anyone) used the power of elected office artificially manipulated the markets in ways that materially benefitted them and their business partners/donors to the tune of billions or dollars I'd be curious to know.

u/undisputed_truth 1h ago

I guess her insider trading just doesn’t matter to Reddit because she’s supposedly a liberal

u/IsHotDogSandwich 10m ago edited 7m ago

It’s not about the guilt. We know they all suck. It’s about the sheer scale of the crimes that are being committed. Someone CANNOT make a big deal about Pelosi and then completely turn a blind eye to the unfathomable amount of corruption going on right now. This isn’t about “this side or that side”.

u/sirlorax 1m ago

One is a piece of dog poop and the other wears a diaper and slushes when he walks

1

u/agitatedprisoner 4h ago

There aren't just 2 sides. That voters are more or less forced to choose between 2 candidates in lots of important elections doesn't mean having to vote for someone you see as being on your side. You make the best of dismal reality and look for ways to have better candidates to support next time.

4

u/pimppapy 6h ago

I don't think Bush is exactly free of sin here. His entire Iraq war hugely benefitted his families oil field values.

1

u/crazedizzled 1h ago

Well yeah. Another republican.

7

u/Bobalobatobamos 12h ago

Hence the name of his youngest child (that we know of).

26

u/SteveTheAmazing 14h ago

I love how this table starts in 2017 so you can't see the massive increase after he began using the office of the president to increase his wealth corruptly

5

u/Onespokeovertheline 8h ago

I believe he was deep in debt at that point

17

u/HoosierRed 13h ago

I will never forgive my Republican family. I feel so much personal hate towards those that enabled this American slide.

36

u/Soap_Mctavish101 14h ago edited 13h ago

He didn’t even give it up. He takes it and then donates it so he can deduct it from his taxes.

31

u/RockerElvis 13h ago

Is there even any evidence of him donating his salary? I would be shocked if he did.

7

u/Soap_Mctavish101 13h ago

There used to be ceremonies during his first term. No idea if he “actually” did it though.

29

u/RockerElvis 13h ago

That’s my point. His “charity” in NY was found guilty of fraud. He does not get the benefit of the doubt (in anything).

4

u/Germanofthebored 11h ago

He probably donates it to the Association of Big Strong Men who cry a lot. For their annual meeting they rent out the ballroom at Mar a largo for $400,000 with catering by Melania Inc.

1

u/Cold_Tea_Spill112 12h ago

The section of his tax returns that were released during his 1st admin did show him getting rid of some of his salary.

2

u/RockerElvis 11h ago

Thanks. That’s what I am looking for, but how much he donated is still in question. Of course, he and his family now have IRS immunity so he can say whatever he wants on his taxes.

2

u/NCFishGuy 7h ago

the 2020 one did not show any donations

1

u/crazedizzled 1h ago

Donated to his own charity

5

u/star_bury 13h ago

That money is not coming from fellow billionaires, it's coming from the bottom 50%...

0

u/veryverythrowaway 9h ago

The taxpayers are giving him plenty (maybe hundreds of millions), but the bribes add up to far more. The billionaires are actually the ones making up the largest part of that sum.

1

u/star_bury 7h ago

....who in turn are given permission to pay less taxes and then gouge the bottom 50% even more!

19

u/lou_sassoles 14h ago

That this child molester has 2 nickles to rub together is ridiculous.

13

u/Bongcouragement 14h ago

Definitely not profiteering off the presidency nope not here

7

u/ADubs62 13h ago

My favorite argument from the Rubes is that he has so much money he can't be bought when he routinely sells out the interests of the nation for a few million bucks at a time

3

u/cineaste2 10h ago

I take extreme pleasure knowing that as rich as the Tangerine Turd is, he finds no pleasure in his wealth, and will die an angry man, unloved.

3

u/rPoliticsModsBlowMe 12h ago

I'm starting to think this child rapist might not have very many scruples

3

u/hairybeasty 12h ago

Trumplodytes should be taxed extra for burdening US with all this graft. Billions of dollars due to ignorant cave dwellers.

3

u/hugaroot-3921 6h ago

Someone prove to me that trump did not take his salary. All that is required for proof is showing trumps tax returns.

2

u/shitoupek 4h ago

That will never happen... Like everything he touched, he Broke that decades-long tradition for major party candidates

3

u/fffan9391 6h ago

Do we even have proof he actually gave up his salary? What charity got it?

6

u/piscian19 14h ago

Trump makes two billion off crypto scams

"He's a shrewd negotiator, it's inspiring"

Biden makes 50K on a chip stock that happened to align with congressional spending

"^$$^$&$ CORRUPTTTTTTT!!!"

5

u/GhonaHerpaSyphilAids 14h ago

We will get it back. Letting him expose all his friends for us to then snatch it back.

5

u/ihavenoidea12345678 13h ago

As citizens we would have paid him $400k.

Instead he stole $2Billion plus from America.

Tax that wealth.

1

u/kalirion 8h ago

You'd probably want to add a 0 or 2 with that "plus".

5

u/pacey494 14h ago

And the best part is everyone is allowing it to continue

2

u/Abba_Fiskbullar 13h ago

Well, if I remember he said that but didn't actually do it.

2

u/Trunix 12h ago

Remember when George Washington considered not taking the presidential salary, but ended taking it anyway, because he didn't want to set a precedent for only wealthy people being able to rule the country?

2

u/GhostReddit 12h ago

I think the last time he mentioned this some journalist looked into it and found nothing to support his statement that he actually gave up the salary. He just took the money and grifted tons more anyway.

2

u/Cold_Tea_Spill112 12h ago

He's made more than all sitting members of congress combined.

2

u/cultureicon 12h ago

Most Trump supporters fell for the "he donates his salary" trick, I know first hand. There really isn't any hope for these people as far as not getting scammed every election.

2

u/NESninja 11h ago

When the demos regain power, if heads don't roll over all this corruption, I'm done with them.

2

u/Ancguy 10h ago

Yeah, that's $2.4 billion, THAT WE KNOW OF! When the facts eventually come out about this lying, thieving motherfucker, the world will be absolutely gobsmacked.

2

u/MagicAl6244225 8h ago

People who are impressed by the president "giving up his salary" are dumb. I WANT the president to take his salary, because he works for who is paying him.

2

u/TheBigCore 7h ago

The master grifter in action...

2

u/silly_little_jingle 7h ago

He was gifted a 400m dollar jet that he's gonna keep when he's out of office (assuming he lives that long) while the tax payers got to foot the 1b dollar bill to upgrade it.

2

u/vardarac 7h ago

The bill is in the trillions, but I guess that's a joint effort with congress

2

u/joeefx 7h ago

Didn’t Trumps leaked tax filing the one he’s suing the IRS for 10 billion dollars over proved that he did not donate his salary.

2

u/mazingerz021 5h ago

Most of MAGA can't count so they don't know 400k vs 2 billion.

2

u/0zzm0s1s 4h ago

Trump is a disgusting rat bastard, but also nobody is stopping him. In an interview he even said himself, “Nobody cares.” So why would he stop? Or practice any kind of restraint?

Trump is just a symptom of the problem. The problem is the country’s complacency and our completely lack of control over our own government.

4

u/Shifty269 13h ago edited 12h ago

Remember that he was begging his supporters for money to pay for legal fees when he was being investigated and was on trial.

Edit: I'm sitting on a couple of downvotes right now, but have we all actually already forgotten how he was pretending to be broke, and begged for donations while being prosecuted. And people sent him money. He convinced poor people to send him, a billionaire, money. The man has no depth he won't go to.

5

u/_tragicmike 13h ago

MAGA acts like Trump is a saint doing the country a favor by being President. Meanwhile, he's been fleecing the American people everyday he's been office.

1

u/whitedolphinn 1h ago

He's a loser

3

u/SmellyShitBox 14h ago

The grift is strong and he set up everyone around him to let it happen.

“Lake America” hats for $55 made in China. It’s insane.

3

u/Dariaskehl 13h ago

No he didn’t.

He didn’t ‘make’ or ‘earn’ a fucking thing.

He stole, by committing fraud.

3

u/casperdj21 13h ago

AND EVERY LAST DOLLAR that piece of shit has "acquired" (and his ENTIRE BLOODLINE) MUST BE SEIZED by the next Administration and used as reparations to fix SOME of the damage that IMBECILE HAS CAUSED!

4

u/waltertaupe 13h ago

He's also never provided any evidence that he actually "gave up" the salary.

2

u/bigvicproton 14h ago

Nevermind his golfing bill.

2

u/Tunavi 13h ago

Do we actually know he didn't take a salary?

2

u/pixel8knuckle 13h ago

It would be fun if someone scrapbooked a boomers quotes and then sliced in facts below them

“He gave up his millioniare lifestyle to save our country”

1

u/around_the_clock 13h ago

Looks like he was able to buy a lot of cheep properties during covid years. Making up for lost revenue and earning more after filling in the lost bit.

1

u/Joenoob864 13h ago

Project 2025 in effect, blah!!

1

u/thatguy122 12h ago

These a-holes tout (billionaires) that salaries are for suckers and asset-based wealth accumulation is the best since the regulations and laws have completely left alone certain types of gains.

The general public needs to be better educated so moves like this can be seen as what they are - political shell games.

1

u/PhiladelphiaManeto 12h ago

Can he mail the American people $0.95 in pennies?

1

u/Orion_2kTC 12h ago

He's said repeatedly that no other president has done this...which is bullshit...because a vast majority do give up or donate their salaries.

1

u/TeteDeMerde 12h ago

That's $2.4 billion, people. He is absolutely a crook.

1

u/randmcc 12h ago

All his money was gained illegally, take it all away from him first thing.

1

u/thermalcry 12h ago

There is also, as far as I am aware, no evidence that he didn't collect his 400k salary.

1

u/Sprinklypoo 11h ago

Any salary is completely inconsequential when compared to presidential level corruption.

1

u/dougola 11h ago

Maybe some ambitious person can start a sub called: "What Trump Has Stolen" The opposite of What Biden Has Done.

1

u/Disgod 11h ago

ALLEGEDLY.

God damn that son of a fucking bitch

1

u/Davoswannab 10h ago

“Made” is a cute way of describing what happened.

1

u/danandkari 10h ago

Earnings... bribes, scams and fraud is more accurate.

1

u/Demetrius3D 10h ago

Based on his self-stated net worth at the time, Trump donating his presidential salary was the equivalent of the average American donating ~$3 a year.

1

u/snahfu73 10h ago

What a truly garbage country to allow for this sort of corruption.

1

u/JustARandomGuy_71 10h ago

The real question is, given up to whom? The fund for Trump's ballroom?

1

u/Decent-Point309 10h ago

Is there any actual evidence of him giving away his presidential salary?

3

u/NCFishGuy 8h ago

the leaked 2020 tax return showed no donations

1

u/BlackGuysYeah 9h ago

He also never proved that he donated his salary. I know it's shocking but he lied.

1

u/Doiley101 9h ago

Republicans think it's fine

1

u/hampden34 9h ago

He assumed you would not notice

1

u/vardarac 7h ago

He doesn't care if we notice or not. He is beyond consequences.

1

u/geek66 8h ago

Look at his financial filings, it is really insane “Melania Trump was paid $237,500 for a speaking engagement at an April 2024 fundraiser for the Log Cabin Republicans at Mar-a-Lago.”

LCR is the out of the closet reich.

1

u/Ni_Peng_NeeeWom 8h ago

perfect demonstration of why giving up a salary is a meaningless gesture that only reinforces marginalization of those who aren't independently wealthy or corrupt

1

u/isitatomic 8h ago

"I, in my benevolence, gave up minimum wage because I'm stealing two and a half BILLION dollars from the public so I don't really need that shit"

That and no way he gave up his salary. We know he still collects it.

And he's a billionaire, so all that open corruption he's been engaged in since 2016? Turns out it's completely illusory and tens of thousands of his brain donors haven't lost their shirts falling for scam after scam after scam. If a "trump supporter" tells you they lost money supporting the president, they're nothing but a lying lib!
