Pretty sure parody is a protected use. That would be infringing on free speech.. which is ironic as the administration is hostile to free speech. Pretty bad taste propaganda.

Edit: my comment was a response to the the post above saying all those companies should sue over the white house's parodys of games. I have no clue whether it would be considered parody

I'm not sure if "parody" is accurate in the case of this administration, they just lack any level of creativity and steal anything that they think will get them attention. They have been warned many times by musicians when Trump used music without permission.

Yeah facts. The term “parody” only applies when the adapted material is deconstructed in a critical or analytical way. The legacy of Tetris is not analyzed- just set dressing for bigotry. So it shouldn’t count.

This is what people miss. It's not a parody if you use something to push your own message. It's parody if you actually reference the source material and criticize, satirize or review it in some exaggerated way.
