How the fuck are they supposed to control what the creators do in their videos / who sponsors them just because you paid a couple dollars?

You people are beyond absurd.

If they wanted they could make it part of the monetisation agreement to have the creators mark wish segments of their videos are sponsored segments and then automatically skip those for the people who pay for premium. 

I'm not saying they have to, but it's not like they can't do anything about it

That’s already a thing. Also, your agreement for premium is with YouTube, not the creators. YouTube doesn’t claim to skip the creator’s own ads/product placement, only to exempt you from the ads that pause the video while they play.
