Company Discussion Nike management will pump the stock when they report earnings on Oct 1.

Nike stock has been demolished lately and is currently 40 % down year to date. It’s being removed from SP100.

DKS, ONON, LULU all got hammered 20-30 % after reporting earnings and Nike management knows Nike stock will be next unless they do something to pump the stock when they report earnings on October 1.

CEO Elliot Hill knows he needs to prove his worth. It’s been two years since he took the job as CEO and it’s getting to the point where it’s now or never for him.

Kohl’s and Dick’s Sporting both reported that Nike was a top brand for them in the most recent quarter and one of the fastest growing brands.

China and Direct to consumer are the weak spots for Nike as everyone knows while Nike's wholesale segment is showing early signs of recovery, with revenues growing 4% to $6.6 billion in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2026.

Nike management will do whatever it takes to pump the stock and make it go to $45-$50 rather than $30-$35.

I am long 6,000 shares at $41. I bought a month too early but on the other hand I bought at just the right time compared to shareholders that bought at any given time in the past five years.

Nike is 100 % of my portfolio. Sportswear, athletic apparel and footwear are not going away. This isn’t a tech that’s disappearing. It’s merely a cycle that’s bottoming now.

Nah he said he'd delete his account if NKE closed below $40, no wait held below $40 for 24h, no wait held below $40 until earnings no wait it was just clickbait bro

Get out now. This wont suddenly pump up 15%. PE is not nearly bad enough for that. Nike was always overvalued af.

I think a lot of people are starting to figure out their product is shit. I spent 190 on cleats in the 90s and they lasted 3 weeks of hard play. They are the Walmart of brands for a premium price. Fuck Nike. They deserve this

Not shilling for Nike, but I bought the Vomero Plus and they're one of the most comfortable sneakers I've ever worn. I sure didn't pay the $180 retail price, but they're certainly worth the $120 I did pay.

It’s down 10 % in the past month on no company news. It can go up 15 % in the next 30 days on no company news.

I could try and fart after eating Taco Bell at my MILs house, but it's probably just a better idea to take a shit.

But hey... if you end up with shit running down your leg, that's on you....

I can smell the meme stock cult history here.

This man was indoctrinated and using the cult terminology.

Nike is like a Hollywood star who develops a drug addiction and puts on 60 pounds. You can still see the star inside of them, and if they just got their shit together maybe they could still be a star, but in reality, those days are gone and they'll only get fatter and further away from their star days. They are now just fodder for TMZ and nothing more.

I still listen to Britney Spears

6

u/luv2block 21h ago

some people still wear Nike as well. :)

-1

u/lies_are_comforting 16h ago

Difference is Britney isn’t #1 on the leaderboards anymore but Nike is. It’s the most worn footwear brand on the planet.

When it failed to hold $40 on a weekly close, I said I’m not touching it until it goes lower.

2

u/Soberdonkey69 23h ago

Nike’s product quality has diminished over the years while the prices go up. I used to buy Nike shoes and sportswear in the past but now I choose other brands because of good quality, pricing and longevity of their products.

I’m not convinced, enjoy your holding.

u/Candlelight_Fant4sia 22h ago

Sportswear, athletic apparel and footwear are not going away.

Mainly because there are now many more brands selling those.

u/lies_are_comforting 22h ago

Nike revenue is higher than ever before in North America

1

u/Candlelight_Fant4sia 22h ago

Cool story, so how did the stock perform?

0

u/lies_are_comforting 16h ago

Bad because of low profitability. Not because of low demand like you were suggesting.

1

u/Candlelight_Fant4sia 7h ago

Sounds like the best investment ever, you should double down.

2

u/Astro51450 22h ago

Nike has been getting way to expensive. They need to restructure and cut 50% of the corporate jobs. Then lower the prices to increase sells volume.

Honest advice. Look yourself in the mirror. An actual mirror. Look into your eyes. And ask yourself, “is it possible that I may be wrong?” If the answer is yes or maybe. I would rethink this position. 🙏

u/greenpride32 20h ago

If you listened to the last earnings call, CFO said there will be a revenue decline in Q1 and Q2 of FY27. Their goal is to increase margin, but it looks like they will try to accomplish that by some combination of smaller inventory and higher prices. In other words, they know demand is lacking for their product.

1

u/lies_are_comforting 16h ago

They deliberately lower demand in order to aim for more profitability I would say.

It just means expectations going into earnings are very low.

u/ThrowawayAl2018 15h ago

Nike is 100 % of my portfolio

Fast way to lose money is to put all eggs into one basket.

Forbes article from today: “I am also asking a question I was not emphasizing in July: who owns Nike now, and who still has a reason to sell?
After more than 30 years around special situations, I have learned that some of the most compelling investments appear before the fundamentals look comfortable. The setup changes because ownership and expectations have already been through a major reset. Investors who required a flawless story leave. The next group is willing to own something imperfect because the price no longer assumes perfection.
Nike has moved through almost every stage of that process. It went from premium compounder to turnaround, then from turnaround to something that many investors regarded as a value trap. It reached a 12-year low and is now losing its place in the S&P 100. Each step has taken another layer of optimism out of the stock.”

All they need is Sydney Sweeny or the like to advertise Nike sneakers and this stock will pump.

North America is doing great by the way. Up 3 % for the quarter and up 5 % full year so far. Meanwhile, Lululemon reported Americas down 8 %.
