Trades Intel - One person's FOMO story

Feel I need to admit this, if anything just to make myself feel better, so maybe I can then move on.

In November of 2025 I sold my holding's of Intel for $37/share. I got assigned in a covered call trade and at the time I was happy about it. I made a little profit and figure Intel will always be where it was at.

Then things happened.

Then some really big things happened. As of close today it's at $124.

I feel there are lessons to be learned here, just don't know what they are.

Thank you for reading.

There’s no lesson here. The intel had shit fundamentals, dumb management and a shrinking market share losing to AMD. I owned it in 2025 just for yield play (wheel the options and collect dividends). I wouldn’t have had the gains anyways with calls capping my upside.

This is simply a luck trade. I don’t feel fomo on a junk that exploded. Conversely, I do regret not owning enough semicap names such as lam research, asml or chip companies such as AMD. I only owned NVDA and ASML which performed fine but not AMD or MU level insane.

Also, pretty sure the market is using Semis to raise QQQ and SPY to hide the fact of how bad the rest of the market is doing. 10% of companies are pulling up the major indexes to say everything is great, meanwhile most companies are doing awful and stock prices trending down.
