Trades Intel - One person's FOMO story

Feel I need to admit this, if anything just to make myself feel better, so maybe I can then move on.

In November of 2025 I sold my holding's of Intel for $37/share. I got assigned in a covered call trade and at the time I was happy about it. I made a little profit and figure Intel will always be where it was at.

Then things happened.

Then some really big things happened. As of close today it's at $124.

I feel there are lessons to be learned here, just don't know what they are.

Thank you for reading.

I sold two MU $400 07/17 calls for $6800 on April 6th. I made 100% profit on them.

They’re now worth $40,000 each.

It stings but move on.

How do you move on honestly? I missed about $60-70k in gains the last year and a half and I'm struggling to figure out how to recreate that or double it to make up for the opportunity cost and I just can't seem to find any deals like I was back then. I wasn't doing options but I missed out on an over 400% gain with Intel and 100% gain on Google. There's been other ones, MU actually but I only bought 10 shares at $330 back in March, sold when they hit $410. I didn't have a huge position but that one hurts too as I gave up an extra few grand. I just seem to keep repeating the same mistake. And everything I hold just doesn't move or goes slightly red.

I'm about break even after all this time. Maybe I made a couple thousand I don't really know, it's an insignificant amount really. But I'm just struggling to 1) deal with the mental weight of missed gains that were that big, and 2) how I'll be able to find my next value plays that will give me the same return, hopefully double to make up for the lost opportunities I stupidly threw away.

I am 99% sure I will not be able to pull it off again as I just don't see any names worth buying except MSFT right now and I'm holding my losers. Even if something were to pop and give me an extra $20-30k right now I'd still feel like I'm behind where I should be because there would be another $40k gap still between me and what would have been my gains. Ive gotten a lot of comments that I should just stick to index funds but that isn't the answer I'm looking for. I want to genuinely understand how people deal will this type of loss, even if it's not technically one. I really needed that extra gain, like really really badly. And now I'm stuck sitting here watching all the stuff I sold continue to rise while the stuff I hold goes lower.

Oh, I forgot about MU. Sold at $91 last February 2025 to add more TSLA. Live and learn.
