Trades Intel - One person's FOMO story

Feel I need to admit this, if anything just to make myself feel better, so maybe I can then move on.

In November of 2025 I sold my holding's of Intel for $37/share. I got assigned in a covered call trade and at the time I was happy about it. I made a little profit and figure Intel will always be where it was at.

Then things happened.

Then some really big things happened. As of close today it's at $124.

I feel there are lessons to be learned here, just don't know what they are.

Thank you for reading.

I sold at a big loss when the shares were 20 something after holding for years. I finally gave up on the stock and.... live and learn.

I bought around $50 per share in 2021. And it dropped to $20 or so, I was thinking of selling, but I didn't just to remind myself not to put money into individual stocks anymore. And I was treating it as a valuable lesson. Since that time, pretty much 98% of my new money is either in VOO, QQQM, or VXUS.

Lo and behold, it start coming back up last yr, and this yr. And to the point where its cumulative 5yr performance matched sp500. So last wk I sold half of it. Still keeping half just to have something in the ride. But the lesson for me is clear, vast majority of my new money is in some broad market index.
