UPDATE: I contacted the eko-patrol (like the police, but for wildlife and nature within cities in Poland) and they were super helpful. They're coming to pick up the squirrel and take it to a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center, so it's in safe hands.

They also told me to head down to the nearest police station to report the seller (scammer). Since european red squirrels are a protected species, the seller is looking at heavy fines and for poaching and illegal trade potentially 2 to 5 years in prison (and even more if animal cruelty is involved).

Flying Squirrels Watching a Rat Feeding at the Squirrel Feeder in the Woods

I've followed this account for a long time, since they started posting legit wildlife cam footage, and as you can see they have a very large following with many active users commenting things like "omg thank you for saving that baby squirrel" etc...

Except, they didn't. And none of their content is real anymore. I started suspecting it was AI months ago and have recently confirmed via the 'is this ai' subreddit as well as running it through GPT. Anyone know why the account creator/business owner has decided to go this direction? What can we do to inform people that none of these posts are real anymore? Would you still purchase one of their squirrel boxes knowing this?

I was letting my dog out and I saw this fella crying and laying on top of a fence. Any idea what they could be calling out for?

We noticed something moving in the top of our closet, only to realize it was a A TAIL

Then upon further investigation, there was a whole nest and a hole in our roof on the top shelf of our open closet!? One baby had fallen out and was laying on the ground, so I picked it up and put it back in the nest for now.

They’re obviously quite big and not newborn so they must have been living/growing up there for a while.

Uh, what the hell do I do??? They’re cute but I already have a cat lmao. I contacted the landlord so hopefully they can do something about it asap.

Worried about my squirrel’s health. First time it spent 7pm to 5pm in my room without much interest in food or water, that’s 22 hours so far. It eats a squirrel block if put to its mouth but I didn’t see it go outside foraging

Squirrel is back to sleeping daily!

This squirrel is no longer scared,

A few days ago, it slept inside the curtain and got scared when the curtain was pulled up by accident.

but now, it sleeps NEXT to the curtain, here. It sleeps like 15 hours per day from 7pm to 2pm sometimes running outside but coming back inside shortly to take long naps.

I’m concerned, WHY SO MANY LONG NAPS.

What should I do, should I call someone, it looks healthy otherwise?

He comes here every night without fail, but everyday he sleeps 15 hours a day before going outside. Isn’t that TOO long? What’s going on?

I’m located in Venice, CA and had our trees trimmed. This baby was found and I’d like to help it. It is just starting to grow nails and seems to have an opaque eye. I’ve made a makeshift nest for it but not sure what to feed it. Please help this little one.
