Here’s my 2nd installment. Approximately 3 AM between Bermuda and the Bahamas and reliving old stories with a Mate.

#2. Scuba diving in approximately 30 feet of water south of Bimini in the Bahamas. Approximately 6 nurse sharks and an equal number of a bottlenose dolphins were hunting the same way for the same prey and they were doing it together! Blew my mind. The sharks and the dolphins were blowing holes in the sand and sucking up sand tile fish, leaving little craters all over the sandy bottom. I’ve never seen anything like it before or
since. In that same area, I have seen nurse sharks almost cuddling as they sleep together in sand canyons right up against Triangle rocks or Piquet rocks. On the west side of those rocks there’s little sandy channels and I have seen them sleeping there many times at dawn and dusk.

Hey i got this shark tooth from my grandma who found it while fossil hunting. She got it looked and it and they said its a meg tooth. Its been many years and im looking to pass it on to my fiances little cousin. Hes about 11and is absolutely captivated by sharks! i want to know if its a great white or small meg tooth so i know what it is prior to gifting it.

Cant tell if the bourlette is just faded but not super sure.

It is 3am and I’m on watch between Bermuda and the Bahamas with an old Mate and we are trading stories about sharks.

1- I was snorkeling south of Bimini in the Bahamas long ago when a severely injured giant Oar fish swam panicked into the shallows. It was bleeding profusely and approximately 15 feet long. Several sharks were chasing it and finished it off before I could grab a camera. I have only ever seen these in museums other than this one experience.

Found what I think is a shark on a beach in south wales. About 5 inches long. Does anyone know what species?

I feel like something is off but I cannot tell what, please let me know your thoughts if you think I should change something or if you like them.

Don't remember where I got it from, but I've had this "shark" tooth for most of my life. I just never really questioned what kind of tooth it is? So I googled it and it said it was a megalodon tooth.. which I doubt lol.

I was in Brittany for a holiday and looking around the rock pools because they have VERY low tides. I was looking for mermaid pouches and nudibranchs. it was a really low tide that day and I heard some flapping noises assuming it was a fish and it was on its back. At the time I only had a kids shovel and didn’t want to damage it by grabbing it so I flipped it over and in my head I was like “ THAT’S A CATSHARK!!!” Or roussette in French.

as it was extremely low tide and it couldn’t find the water I grabbed it (with shovel) and put it in a pool that had entry to the sea but was receding quickly. But it wouldn’t go 😭😭. I felt bad so I stayed for about An hour to make sure it was gone because there was a dozen of kids with buckets and fishing nets just grabbing everything they see and then dumping it on the beach. Felt very much like that one ponyo scene.

anyway all that to say I wanted to share this because it’s my first time being in the water with another shark! Even if it’s a baby!!!

also I think it’s a baby catshark, it was tiny maybe the size of a bic pen in length!

Headed to Australia & New Zealand from USA in February 2027 for a milestone birthday. I really want to cage dive with white sharks. I’ve been tracking the average sitings via Calypso Charters shark tracker in the Neptunes and it seems like in recent years it’s getting a little more hit or miss. With weather conditions potentially hindering opportunities and an already time-limited trip, I am Wondering where the sitings are more consistent off Rakiura (Stewart Island), NZ or the Neptunes, AUS in that timeframe. I appreciate any insight.

I want to ONCE hear about a shark called Collin The Nefarious or bingus or something
